Imagine No Religion: Welcome to Dark America – IOTW Report

Imagine No Religion: Welcome to Dark America

Intellectual Froglegs – This is one of the darkest hours EVER in American history— mandatory lock-downs, 22 MILLION job losses, Food Banks for the hungry, Depression-era suicides…

And like millions of other Americans, my church is closed.

Of course, at first… it was wise to close up shop “just to be safe” as they say, but after weeks and weeks of ‘volume 11’ disinformation and hysteria; it’s clear to rational thinking Americans, there is no wolf at our door—aside from the regular wolves at our door. [snip]

Godless people around the globe are taking advantage and celebrating the close of America.

And my church is closed.

The Church reps—all who still have their jobs, btw— say “we’re not closed” we’re available online!

I’m sorry… a church with locked doors on Sunday ain’t a church.

And even if all those predictions of doom were not total nonsense—- our churches are supposed to be source of Strength and Light and Love for our communities—not cowering in a corner waiting til it’s safe to come out.

Read the complete article by Joe Dan here.

This is quite a damning article that should shame every church leader. How can we sing about letting our light shine when we really are hiding it under a bushel?

  1. Church “leaders” are cowards who are afraid of losing their fiefdoms by going against state authorities. They should have always been advocating for civil disobedience.

  2. This has given me a something to pray through with MY Church, and MOST of the Churches around the nation. I don’t mean faith in God, THAT only gets STRONGER with adversity, but rather with trust in PASTORS to read and act on The Word.

    The early Church, the one documented in the Gospels, wasn’t really noted for knuckling under to the Roman authorities, and they had MUCH more persuasive means at their disposal. It’s tough to imagine the man who wrote THIS;

“19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
    Ephesians 19-20

…meekly saying to, say, DeWhine of Ohio and his baby-murdering witch, “OK, we’ll disobey the Bible and stop worshipping the Lord together as the Word commands as long as you say so, secular authorites”, but rather it would seem to the the antithesis of this.

    It is kind of clear on the point;

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
    Hebrews 10:25-31

…Oh-oh, did you CATCH that, “And so much the MORE, as ye see the day approching”. NOT LESS…

…and it doesn’t contain any qualifiers like “Unless there is a rumor of a virus loose in the land, and the political authorities tell you not to”.

…I mean, even AFTER the Pharasee THOUGHT they had dealt with their little “Jesus problem” that threatened their man-made “authority”, Paul, though threatened with the same or worse as his Lord, had PLENTY of sass for them,,,

“1 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high priest?

5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.”

    Acts 23,1-5

…did you catch that backhanded way that Paul took a shot at the high preist? RIGHT TO HIS FACE? “I WANT to tell you what you are, but ONLY my Lord, whom YOU want me to renounce, is stopping me, NOT you!” is the subtext, slapping him DOUBLY with the implied insult AND the fact that he CONTINUES to follow the teachings of Christ RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM…

…pretty sure THAT man wouldn’t care what some dink RINO mouthpiece for an abortionist Democrat witch in a Statehouse has to say about it. He’d just tell them he’s going with the Word.

Kind of like Peter did earlier in Acts, in fact…

“25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.”

…THESE men faced DEATH! By stoning, by crucifixion, by a daggar in the night, nasty, painful, shameful DEATH, such as they had ALREADY seen done to their OWN Lord and savior!

…so I’m pretty sure no State trooper, Governor shill, or threatend “loss of tax exemptions” would back THEM down…

The Bible tells us we must respect authority. To a point. But when Man’s authority conflicts with God’s authority, God MUST win out.

…every Pastor needs to stand up for Christ at this time. If they’re just gonna fluff the uneaten Gluten Free (and Jesus Free) Coummnion Wafers in front of their unseen online audience, this may be thing that we are warned about a bit later…

“1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”
    2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

…time to choose up sides, and the Word has a suggestion THERE, too…

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
    Joshua 24:15

    …serve the Governor.

    Or serve the Lord.

    …shouldn’t even be CLOSE…

    …just let the Govies know…

    We are EVERYWHERE!

  3. America and its people grew great and achieved a high place under Christianity, and is now falling from that great height it had achieved as it leaves it.

And a long and hard fall it will be.

  4. i am truly sorry for the state of the church and the folk who attend. My faith is in the Savior/Creator, so i have not experienced any “shut downs”…While I am cool with social distancing and masking for others, I have not been concerned with these – only the six foot distancing (for others not myself) because I have faith that my God/King/Saviour is greater/stronger than any virus or disease. For those who DONT have the faith, I will at the least social distance. But, if you claim to be a believer in Christ, act like it. Any pastor that has “closed his church or limited attendance” is not a man of faith – he is a man of flesh and mammon. Seriously rethink you’re attendance at a house of worship if it’s being closed or limited in attendance. That is not a house of FAITH.

  5. @Sns – great vid, I have never seen that movie, but did hear about it.

His death is well documented though, not very nice ending as YOU know, but I look forward to seeing him The Kingdom of God.

We went to a museum a year ago, cannot remember now, but saw a version of his skinning and it was pretty horrifying actually.

Turns out Mark Twain was a bit flustered when he saw a statue version in his travels.

“Risen” is about the immediate aftermath of the Crucifixion, the Pharasee’s fears of a risen Christ, and the Roman’s hunt for his body, which WE know, would never be found because He wasnt dead! I like that scene because it shows how only our Lord could have endured so much (althogh Bartholomew later got flayed alive and left to bleed to death), and how the hunt for the body of Christ led a total non-believer to the LIVING Christ. It’s not totallt Scriptural (mostly because they had to write the starring Tribune into it) but it makes some Scriptural points like how the Pharasee got the Roman guards to lie about the Resurrection, how they couldn’t stop the faith, and how the Cross was miraculously turned from an instrument of torture to a symbol of hope, even for a man paid to torment the followers of Christ who instead came to Christ himself, along with a fairly decent overview of first century politics (Pontius Pilate and Caiaphas are PERFECTLY captured) life and death in the most troubled part of the world, and the abiding faith that rose from such hate.

I recommend it, it’s kind of like watching Easter happen when it REALLY mattered…

  8. They did not go full-bore commie here in NH (the live free or die state) and my church never closed. I thank God for that because we had to make use of their food pantry program since my wife lost her job to this carona-sham 5 weeks ago and it took unemployment that long to finally show up.

For us it was getting tough to eat without help from our church because the local food shelter is down to half-weeks, limited hours, limited food stuff’s, and a very limited staff.

I have been in the hours-long line only to hear that they have run out or are closing early because they are about to run out and must save some for the next time they open.

A GIANT shout-out to Hannaford’s grocery store for all their donations!

  9. @Sns – thanks! No sorries mon…but I get ya.

Crazy shit though huh? And we think we have it bad now?

And we have a country that was created and steeped in Judeo- Christian values and per what JDG is saying theres’ no church open to worship in now??????? NOT GOOD.

Neo – Post Modern Dark Ages indeed…

  10. Home church should of been the go to when this came down and we knew the numbers were fake. You don’t need a pastor to have church.
I think we’re supposed to be equipped to do it.

  11. I find great comfort in my church and my cemetery to visit my Dad. They were both open with no problem before March 13. I would go everyday to both practically and then slowly but surely they closed the church and then I saw a group of people gathering in the cemetery because the parks were closed and hence the cemetery closed, too. So now I do my praying everyday no matter where I am. Driving around to get out of the house or up in my room or taking a walk. It’s all about your comfort level with your faith and knowing prayers are so important. November is so important, too so pray and don’t become smug thinking you will win. I know back in 2016 the Dems were all very smug and the shock they faced was down right devastating to them. We need to pray and know what is right for the people in this country – “One nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

    God Bless us all!!

  12. I did a lot of driving around today. Are NorCal county is wide open. Restaurants are packed, and not by 25%. We drove down main street Placerville today and again it was packed. You couldn’t find a place to park. One big party. I had to stop by the shop this evening. There’s several churches that occupy industrial buildings in the business park. I drove past two and both had paper signs on their monument signs saying “Church Open Tomorrow”. Everything seems to be approaching normal except for the gyms. And damn, I need in a gym bad.
