PLAYBOY MAGAZINE IS ENDING PICTURES OF NUDE WOMEN

An advisor has told Hugh Hefner that Playboy magazine is no longer relevant as a “bawdy magazine” because the internet provides any picture you desire, from bawdy to explicit. Hefner agreed. They will feature women in sexy poses, like what you would see on Instagram. Which begs the question, is the advisor aware that anyone can go to Instagram? How will Playboy be relevant?

  1. The internet is the new version of plain brown wrapper.

Out of all of the individual pages on the web (think zillions), adult themed pages are somewhere around 5-10%. Think of how many pages make up IOTW or a local elementary school or a contractors business. None of them are adult themed. However, adult websites account for over 60% of all web based revenue.

With a magazine, there was always a possibility that the viewer may read the liberal socialist based writing. Not so much with a web service. Playboy will either be only a web based adult themed photo and video service with highly airbrushed photos or it will die. Personally, it could die and I really wouldn’t care especially after one of their writers decided to tell everyone which conservative women he’d like to hate-fuck (rape).

  2. A few years ago I had close relative who worked for Playboy and this person signed everyone in the family up for a subscription. (Honest to God, not making that up.)
Anyway, I had a subscription for a year and I can tell you that the problem with Playboy has nothing to do with nude women, per se. I mean, personally, I much prefer REAL bodacious ta-tas and women who aren’t in high school but I digress.
The reason I ended up throwing my monthly issue in the trash was that it was more liberal than Gay Queen magazine. And I mean, knee-jerk, talking points, DWS, Comedy Central stupid.
Ironic because Hef himself once confessed to Bob Costas on TV that it was only those on the left that ever called for the banning of his publication and actually shutting him down.

  3. Mid 60’s to mid 70’s Playboy mags are the best. I have or had some of the first copies, I don’t remember as I sold a few on ebay. Pretty sure I still have an October 1968 one around somewhere, fcuk, that means I’ll be 47 this year.

  4. I’m not a gynecologist and never liked the full frontal.
I saw about 7 issues in my lifetime. The last one had a article about jay Leno.
Sometime in the 80’s I think.
It’s kinda like having a Ferrari vs looking at photos of one.

  5. The internet is just porn and netflix now. Everything else is just leftover bits here and there. This site would be fine with a 56k modem. Comcast has stuff 1000 times faster than that.

  6. Ha, having attended college I can tell you that no-one bought playboy. It was stuff like Swank and Barely Legal. The occasional Hustler.

In fact a roomate was given a copy of his favorite smut mag, Barely Legal, for his birthday from a frat brother. They glued a few pages together (with super glue, not man glue) as a joke. Hilarious.

Of course, this was in the 90s. The internet wasn’t “broadband” at the time, and mobile internet was when you put your computer in the trunk of your car.

Nudie pics were mostly hard copy then. Now, why pay for a physical copy of Playboy? Taking it into the bathroom for leisurely perusal? That’s what tablets and smart phones are for, now. The article says they will be making the playboys from thicker paper stock, making them seem more like a collectors item.

So, at least they realize they are now a novelty.

  7. Interesting, this was floated when Maxim was really big, like 10 years ago. Since Maxim was able to get starlets to pose w/o getting naked. Seems too little, too late. They should probably stop print, and stick to web & cable tv.

  8. funny thing about the Field & Stream mention is that it is now owned by a far-Left billionaire asshole who has also bought up a bunch of guns, hunting magazines. His libtard ownership has interfered to the point that fucking GUNS & AMMO ran a pro-guncontrol editorial. They were totally unprepared for the shitstorm of upset loyal subscribers writing in.
