Breitbart: President Obama blamed male lawmakers for sales taxes on tampons and pads for women, suggesting that they were ignorant of the struggles of women in America.
Obama hosted a series of interviews with YouTube personalities this afternoon, including one interview with Ingrid Nilsen, a woman who asked why tampons and pads for women were frequently taxed as a “luxury goods” in nearly 40 states.
“I don’t know anyone who has a period that thinks it’s a luxury,” Nilsen said. “It’s something that’s part of our everyday lives and is really crucial to our health as women.” more

You know, all the years I bought sanitary napkins and tampons, I never gave a thought to whether or not they were taxed. Even if I had, the tax probably came to about a quarter a month, so why would I care?

It’s not an “extra” tax, it’s just a sales tax (in every state I’m aware of). And yes, men’s products are subject to the same sales tax. If government truly had its way, there would be no exemptions on sales tax for food, medicine, etc. Then again, iOTW readers know that, it’s just the libtards who can’t figure it out.
