  1. Kids. So sad. Your pictures are as I imagined her. Scary. Parents should not out live their kids and kids shouldn’t have their parents die when they’re young. Who do we complain to?

  2. I can’t remember exactly when I started but Admin Gal was there. I think my first post had to do with some smart ass comedian criticizing the military and I posted a vid of a Chanuck Helicopter water landing.

  3. Very nice song.

I recognize most of those names. Don’t remember when I started posting here, I do remember several of those surveys. I love the surveys. The ones I had bookmarked on the old site are gone now, the links don’t work.

  4. I remember the survey but was still fearful and untrusting (and intimidated by Sourball — I remember laughing out loud every time I saw their avatar). I think the first comment I made was telling Fur to please give a little warning on the humor as I snorted coffee through my nose all over my keyboard.

I always pictured Admin Girl as the real brains behind the outfit. In my mind she had the competence of Della Street, the subtlety of Lena from Ray Donovan and I often pictured her thwacking the boys of IOTW on their heads and shaking her head in an expression of ‘lost cause’ at their puerile humor. I’m betting she was the one who always said “who’s gonna pay for it?” when Fur and Pinko started scheming.

  5. 2009?! That much time has gone by?! Sometimes, waiting for Obamanure to vacate the WH seems to take an eternity. I miss a lot of those people who used to comment here, but there are lots of great people here now as well!

  6. Admin Girl gave me the win in the Wangcaster Song contest for my entry Love Squirts…funny the stuff you remember. Those were good times. I’m glad so many have stuck around. It seems like we’ll never be done fighting the dirtbags in our gubmint. Job security I guess.

  7. I remember emailing Admin Girl when I was trying to decide what name I was going to use as a contributor. I commented and sent in tips as Claudia, but thought maybe I’d make a funny name or something. I decided on one name, emailed her, then an hour later change my mind.

I finally just decided to use the name I had been using. She made a funny about me changing my mind. I knew then I liked that lady!

  8. Oh, damn. 2009? I thought the site had been around longer than that. It wasn’t that much later that I found this place.

That was great to read. Reminds me that there are always little things that become more meaningful as time passes.

Like inadvertent photos that are treasured so much. Honest glimpses into the past.

  9. Does Dixie Normus post here any more?
    He related to Hugh Mongous?

I’m not sure I was around for this poll, but I don’t always do the long polls anyway.
I lurked at first here, then posted under Troy, then Sharpton gave me current appellation.

  10. Wow! Nothin like growing older with friends. This site helped me get through the last four farcical year that have been the Obama administration or should I say the Reign of the Boy King. Thanks for that. And thanks to AdminGirl for her contributions that made this place a home.

  11. I’ve been around since the beginning but didn’t post for some time. Never played contests because Chalupa almost always won them. That guy is sharp. 😉 With iOTW also came the narcissistic little man child Barry. I also chose the name MadJack as I was and still am MAD about the little bastard.

I’ll miss that beautiful eye of Admin Girl. 🙁

  12. Thanks for posting this, BFH.
Since Admin Girl’s leaving us, it’s hard not to think of others who have dropped off the radar.
I believe it was 2010 when I discovered you guys, and it’s been my favorite site ever since.
And dammit, I miss Ralph and Stymie.

  13. Thank you Mad Jack – it’s been a pleasure getting to know you and the rest of the 09ers on FB. Another Admin Girl classic was when the thumbs went crazy – it took her awhile to figure it out. You could run any comment up or down thousands of thumbs lol. Then there was the time us pranksters on FB decided to impersonate people without avatars – that was a hoot!! Pinko read us the riot act on that one ha ha!!

  14. Thanks for posting this Fur…a good walk down memory lane. Been fortunate to get to know some of the folks listed above – which never would have happened if I hadn’t stumbled on to IOTW one day.

  15. @ Norman

Last I heard, Ralph and Stymie joined a Wicca cult in the New Jersey Pinelands and now run a fruit and veggie stand on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township.

  16. Thanks for posting this! Like many others, I was reluctant to comment at first but some email exchanges with Admin Girl brought me out of my shell. What a wild ride it’s been since! 🙂

  17. Can’t remember when I first started lurking here. Loved it from the beginning, and I don’t frequent any other site.

BFH and the gang used their irreverent humour to suck me in, like a tractor beam…

    Schrooooooommm…..

  18. I remember most of those names. I lurked for a long, long time before daring to comment. How glad I am that I finally did. I’ve met some wonderful people through IOTW. 🙂
