  1. With the people coming out of our legal studies departments and into our court systems, you can never be sure how they’ll actually rule once they get a chance to play for life in the big league.

You can only look at who they clerked for, their writings and rulings and hope for the best.

  2. He’s a progressive and elitist. The comment he made, chastising Trump for calling out the 9th Circuit leftist judge activist, sounds suspiciouly RINO. He could be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. If he’s getting sincere support from the left, we got (nod to “The Music Man”) “trouble, trouble, trouble…”

  3. I’d wait until he hears and renders an opinion on the first few cases. Yes, Republicans have picked what they thought were reasonable conservatives who turned out to be anything but however I don’t think this is the case but the proof will be in the opinions.

  4. It may not be so much as Gorsuch is in disagreement w/ the ruling as he is in the other judges reasoning for their findings. if you look at the writing of Gorsuch in the case cited http://www.courthousenews.com/2016/07/27/10th-circuit-oks-school-arrest-strip-search.htm.

” …. in this particular case, I don’t believe the law happens to be quite as much of an ass as they do.”

either way, as we haven’t fully read the 10th Circuit’s 94-page ruling, or Gorsuch’s full dissent, I can take some comfort in a quote from that dissent … “.. it is (or should be) emphatically our job to apply, not rewrite, the law enacted by the people’s representatives. Indeed, a judge who likes every result he reaches is very likely a bad judge, reaching for results he prefers rather than those the law compels.”

  5. Lawyers are whores.
    Judges are prostitutes.
    It’s a question of degree.
    Trust?
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man …”
    (Jeremiah 17:5, KJV)

    izlamo delenda est …

  6. My first thought was, “Who first reported this?” If it was a liberal, then it was a lie.

Don’t know now, but with all the scrutiny he should be getting from the Senate, I hope they can get to the bottom of this.

Have Ted Cruz grill him. He should be able to tell if Gorsuch will uphold the Constitution.

  7. As someone who lives in Boulder County, Colorado, I can only ask those of you who are wondering about Gorsuch’s choice of a church this question: who do you know who sat in another church for over a decade without hearing a thing that Reverend Jeremiah Wright said? This man is a social liberal, or he would have found another place of worship. This church is the epicenter of progressive thinking in Boulder. Just watch him evolve once he is on the Supreme Court.

  8. I, for one, do not care about his politics or leanings as long as he will follow the F***ing LAW. As written in the Constitution, not re written by activist judges like Roberts and NOcare. He tied himself in knots to justify that POS.

  9. @Marco: That one detail– being a member of The Episcopal Church–makes me exceedingly uncomfortable and very suspicious of Gorsuch. There’s no way– NO WAY a person can claim to be conservative and remain in TEC.

  10. I read about the church, very concerning. I would not have stayed at that church (not a Bible believing, Bible teaching church. The Bible does not teach moral relativism, but that church does.
