What the Romans Knew About Winning a War
I. The Roman Way
In writing about the Paris massacre in The Wall Street Journal, Peggy Noonan was blunt:
These primitive, ferocious young men will not stop until we stop them. The question is how. That’s the only discussion.
Okay, let’s take up Noonan’s challenge: How do we stop ISIS? Once and for all? [Read more at Breitbart]
Exactly.
And “leading from behind” won’t get the job done, either.
“They make a desert and call it peace.”
“Si vis pacem, para bellum”
The only thing the 7th-Century throwbacks understand is force. Too many world “leaders” are using the radical muzz for their own ends. Afterall, a global terrorist needs a global police force, right?
…Preferably 9MM Parabellum.
🙂
We have a choice: be Rome or be Carthage. Our advantage is that our weaponry can visit the fate of Carthage in minutes. All that is required is the will to use it. Unfortunately the co-exist crowd’s insistence that we be Carthage and cling to the feeble concept of proportional response prevents expeditious termination of the conflict. It only prolongs the suffering.
Wow….an article quoting closet Obama voter Peggy Noonan…. I guess her “wet for Obama panties” are now all dry and crusty and chaffing her back to reality….. too bad she wasn’t making these hard core statements in 2008……
How? A bounty on the head of every jihadi. And arm the citizens in countries where the God-given right to self defense has been taken away.
Death to islam and the terror it craves!
It will take American boots on the ground in a war without consideration for collateral damage. It will require direct confrontation of those that claim to be out allies but in fact are our enemies…..Saudi, Pakistan, Turkey, and will require a show of force against Iran. It’s ugly, but that is the hand we have been dealt by politicians from both sides of the aisle.
