Fox is going to air a live performance of “A Christmas Story: The Musical” on December 17th. They’ve lined up Matthew Broderick to be the narrator and Maya Rudolph to be Ralphie’s Mom.
Cleveland is going to host an outdoor screening of the performance at the site of the original A Christmas Story home.
I’ve watched some clips of the musical. Be ready for a jazzed up Broadway production with lots of singing, dancing and tapping. I’m equal parts horrified and intrigued.
Not a finger!
I’ve seen the promo.
Looks like Flick has been affirmative-action replaced for multi-culturalism’s sake.
What kind of black boy would be dumb enough to put his tongue on a cold flag pole?
RACIST!!!
You lost me at ‘Musical’.
“… life is like that. Sometimes, at the height of our revelries, when our joy is at it’s zenith, when all is most right with the world, the most unthinkable disasters decend upon us.”
“… Fra … gee …. lee”
Hope they have plenty of black people in the show or I won’t watch it.
And, must have LBGQRXX… representations.
I’m sure they’ll throw in a Trump assassination scene too.
Maya Rudolph? But-but-but she’s not a pierced and inked bipolar transsexual.
…or maybe she is and I’m simply not paying adequate attention.
Oh, FUDGE!
You used up all the glue on purpose!
You’ll shoot your eye out, kid
Changed t an antiNRA message.
“… Lifebuoy, on the other hand … “
“a crummy commercial???? …. son of a bitch!”
Why does Hollywood always think it necessary to remake a classic? Could it be because they have no imagination? How about some original ideas for a change?
Words fail me…socially acceptable ones at least.
You cannot remake perfection. A couple quick examples come to mind;
3:10 to Yuma
True Grit
Both remakes sucked sewer water through their ass.
Can’t have the racial stereotype Chinese restaurant scene with the thick Chinese accents and, heaven forbid, not the duck decapitation, unless done with an ISIS sword.
Wondering if it will turn out anything like the “live performance” musical of Sound of Music? Which, frankly, stunk.
Bongo,
The new Star Trek movies.
Ralphie shows up in Vegas and shoots everybody’s eyes out…..or a school for the deaf and blind….
“Dad-gummit blob!”
I’m waiting for the politically correct remake of
Leave it to Beaver
Mylie Cyrus stars as the leg lamp….
Not interested!
Still smarting from not going to the Latest Ghost-busters, PMS edition.
It’s suck because, for certain, they’ll be cutting out the Chinese restaurant scene…
Fahrahrahrahrah… Rahrahrahrah…
Well we all know who love Broadway tunes, so…
No. Just no.
Unless it’s narrated by Jean Shepherd, I’m not watching it.
And he’s been dead for years.
Oh fudge!
A Christmas Story has to be the worst, most disjointed, incoherent piece of shit of a movie I have ever been subjected to. What the attraction is totally escapes me.
It’s a CLINK-ER!
JD you ever sat and watched Ishtar.
I Like Santa.
Like to collect Christmas decorations? You’ll have fun looking at the Department 56 houses, shops and the rest of the town from A Christmas Story. Many of the items are discontinued, but you can usually find them on E-Bay.

Oh! They’re having a 70% off sale!
I knew that Schwartz was getting his.
Here’s a better link to Dept. 56, itself.

I generally hate remakes. True Grit beins one of them. Why don’t they get it?
For anyone who is a Shep fan (Vietvet) here is a site with a lot of his WOR radio broadcasts from 1953 to 1977. Enjoy!

Won’t be watching. I’m surprised the mother and father arn’t a mixed race couple with stupid white neighbors.
Haven’t watched many musicals. In fact, I was in more as a child in school than I’ve watched.
As soon as the first song starts – click.
And I sang in choir competitions for 6 years and was even one of 30 6th grade boys singing out-of-sight backstage in an opera in Dallas. Musicals irk me. I won’t be watching this one either.
Well, bet they don’t remake “The Greatest 4th of July and Other Disasters”.
Well, I bet they don’t remake “The Greatest 4th of July and Other Disasters”.
@The Rat Fink: You know, I actually used to have that link some while back, but I forget where I stored it.
Thanks for posting.
%#$%@$ Bumpuses!!!
I’m with LadyGun. Just no.
