“It’s A Major Award”

Fox is going to air a live performance of “A Christmas Story: The Musical” on December 17th.  They’ve lined up Matthew Broderick to be the narrator and Maya Rudolph to be Ralphie’s Mom.

Cleveland is going to host an outdoor screening of the performance at the site of the original A Christmas Story home.

I’ve watched some clips of the musical. Be ready for a jazzed up Broadway production with lots of singing, dancing and tapping. I’m equal parts horrified and intrigued.

  1. “… life is like that. Sometimes, at the height of our revelries, when our joy is at it’s zenith, when all is most right with the world, the most unthinkable disasters decend upon us.”

    “… Fra … gee …. lee”

  2. Words fail me…socially acceptable ones at least.
    You cannot remake perfection. A couple quick examples come to mind;
    3:10 to Yuma
    True Grit
    Both remakes sucked sewer water through their ass.

  3. Haven’t watched many musicals. In fact, I was in more as a child in school than I’ve watched.

    As soon as the first song starts – click.

    And I sang in choir competitions for 6 years and was even one of 30 6th grade boys singing out-of-sight backstage in an opera in Dallas. Musicals irk me. I won’t be watching this one either.
