Joe Biden is putting unused parts from Donald Trump’s border wall up for auction to try to thwart GOP lawmakers who want to complete building the structure designed to keep migrants (bottom) out of the US. The Biden administration is using a site called GovPlanet, which offers online auctions for military surplus. They’ve already sold 81 lots of steel square structural tubes which would be used within the wall’s 30-foot panels at a profit of $2 million. The federal government also sold more than 700 28-foot-tall hollow beams in five separate lots for just $212 each, with over a dozen set to go to auction each of the next two Tuesdays. The move could be seen as an attempt to slow attempts to extend the wall, which the Democrat-led Senate voted to do as part of a Republican-sponsored bill in the annual defense appropriations bill. Biden is under fire from Republicans for avoiding the southern border while on official travel this week to border states Arizona and New Mexico.
