It’s time to get tough with our congresspeople and corporations

American Thinker:

By Andrea Widburg

I got an email from my congressperson’s office today.  It was a cute, chatty missive to constituents, boasting about said congressperson’s work helping Britney Spears and others in conservatorships, telling people to get vaccines, and then talking about getting peaches from some agricultural group, and other banal and meaningless stuff.  I snapped.  I had spent my day reading about the January 6 political prisoners and leftist vaccine hysteria coupled with leftist support for an open border, and I just had it.

I’ll share with you what I wrote, but the important point is that more of us conservatives need to snap as I did: no threats (of course), but letting our politicians and corporations know what matters to us.

I don’t know much about game theory, but I do know this: if you’re playing nice, and your opponent starts playing mean (violence, cheating, etc.), you cannot continue to be nice, because you will lose, and lose badly.  The only thing to do is to mirror those tactics and, because you’re better and smarter, escalate them to victory, at which point you can give your opponent the option to return to civility or to continue in a feral environment in which you will beat him.  (And if I’m wrong about classic game theory, let’s just say that this is my game theory, which reflects how human nature works.)

For the past many decades, conservatives have been playing a polite game while Democrats have been fighting a vicious war.  That is why they’ve taken over every institution, and it’s questionable whether we can wrest them back.  I can assure you, though, that we cannot wrest them back doing what we’re doing now. more

  1. I had the same reaction yesterday seeing Ted Cruz bragging about how he was going to fight to overturn Roe vs Wade and sent him a message. WTH – I too am sick and tired of the uniparty theater. My first blast to him is why isn’t Health Freedom in the drop down options and that none of the available topics were anything anyone is interested in. And why isn’t he at the border weekly fighting for Texans that are being invaded with diseased migrants. And I let him know how impressive it was he can recite the Constitution now maybe he can attempt to be an actual patriot and uphold and enforce it. Totally agree we need to contact these people daily.

  2. Well stated. The Republican Party is not going to find religion and support the American people and Constitution any time soon.

Need nation wide vigorous pushback on the covid lies and wholesale house cleaning of Republican Party the current crowd is about 95% uniparty

  3. But, but, but, PRINCIPLES!!!! I will be able to hold my head up high knowing that I upheld my “principles” (at least until they put the blindfold over my eyes and ask if I want a cigarette before the “ready … aim … fire!” command.

  4. Well done! The GOP sold out Americans 32 years ago! Don tried to change this; but failed.
The conservative witch hunt aka 1/6 commission is a great example!
Kevin lied 3 weeks ago when he said he would punish the Bush Republicans that joined it!

  5. The time for talk was a generation ago.
For 3 generations, politicians have escaped the appropriate consequences of epic lying and stealing.

biden* has NEVER been concerned about telling lies. His entire life he’s lied, his career was founded on lies and is fueled by lies. He can’t not tell lies.

And look where he is today, and accept that NONE of the rest of them object to that most offensive reality.
Talk to them? They’re untouchables. They don’t give two shits what you think.

  6. My brother just told me a perfect saying that fits this issue perfectly:

“Don’t lean on a shovel and pray for a hole.”

Make those calls, sent those emails, mail those letters. DO it.
