Jerk wipes out store of meat – Store allows him

Newser– A British Columbia man is calling his mega-meat purchase a “stupid mistake” after video of the buy went viral and inspired death threats, the Terrace Standard reports. “All I get are death threats,” says Dan Marcotte. “It was a stupid mistake, now I’m being prosecuted. But nobody really knows who I am.” Video of Marcotte and his girlfriend buying two shopping carts full of meat has gone viral on YouTube, with over 430,000 views. But the Lake Country resident says they only stocked up at Save On Foods because of the coronavirus panic.

But he’s not returning any.

The Canadian won’t be returning any of that meat, he admits, but he’s ready to help anyone who needs a hand during the pandemic.

Yeah, sure he is.

~~~~~~
The word is “persecuted,” you friggin’ idiot.
  1. Saw picture of an elderly shopper in Australia looking at the near empty shelves in a grocery store there. The caption said she had tears in her eyes. People like this gentleman disgust me and they deserve all the ridicule we can dish out if not more.
  2. Yea, well Daughter Dearest called to tell me Costco had a one limit TP on line if you purchases $75 In other products. By the time I got to the website they were out of stock.
  3. @ Different Tim- I saw this first hand this past week. Our smaller local store here in suburban Chicago, they started senior hours as well as you all know, and I saw the greatest generation lining up at 7am in their wheel chairs, walkers and canes to get in for a few things, typing this brings tears to my eyes, my mother is 96, I’m glad she has us to do for her.
    It was pathetic, I hated even being there, but I’m also trying to get for an older brother of mine, I’m 65 and the youngest, so try to do what I can.
    Has anyone else out there seen the video in Florida of the woman buying up the whole dollar store of TP, paper towels and napkins, everything, loaded 2 trucks, awful.
  4. PJ, an ocean away but breaks your heart. Our kroger is setting aside Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for seniors as the only shoppers on the first hour of opening. I need a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread but if they have TP and paper towels I’m going to buy ONE of each and take them to an elderly lady in her late eighties down the block. I’ve checked in with her and she said she’s fine on food and she gets meals on wheels every week day.
  5. I was in Costco Saturday. I had to laugh at people. The checkout line was a double line, all the way to the back of the store. I only wanted three items.
    Memo to fake news: Stop with the hysteria. We want our lives back.
  6. Marilyn and Different Tim. Way to live…help your neighbor (relative also).
    God bless all who share, and please God, wake up the selfish.
    Daughter just emailed, costco emailed her to tell her the TP was out of stock so it won’t be in her order.
    Costco told DH last week that they replenish TP stock on Tuesdays and it is limited to 1 package.
    He couldn’t go because he had to take me to my poison drip. Oh well. Trust in God.
  7. OT.
    Just a thought here.
    What are they going to do next year when the normal Flu hits again as it will. Shut down the whole country from Oct.to May again. No way.
    This is insane what they (the press and unformed state reps} have done.
    I know this is all done to damage President Trump.
    And us.
    If they lay off all of the state workers without pay, teachers also, I might believe them, not one in our state to date. All teachers are getting full pay and as will all state workers.
    And you can bet they will be going to the feds for a full bail out for taxes lost from there own call to shut down their states.
    Just watch.
  8. The response by grocery stores as a whole has been incredibly slow. Instead of enacting panic buying limits as soon as they saw panic buying starting to occur, they enacted panic buying limits only after their supplies were wiped out, at which point the limits were useless.
    The stores were too busy looking forward to increased sales due to people dining in instead of dining out, and didn’t account for a panic wiping out stock in a matter of hours, so nothing was done to stop it.
    I don’t work for a grocery store, but much of our production work is printed advertising for grocery stores. We can’t print weekly ads for them now because they cannot guarantee the items in the ads will be in stock. No ads from grocers, no business for us. About 3/4 of our employees are now laid off because of idiots like this.
  9. How are you gonna keep 300 pounds of meat if your electrical fails?….goodbye refrigeration….salt might be the second most valuable commodity next to brass….I know that I have access to more then 100,000 cattle in a 30 mile radius. I got a cool (temperature) basement and the ability to salt and hang hundreds of pounds of protein…
    That being said, I believe there will be a very fast turn around in this bullshit in the next 2 weeks or so. The economy can’t crater much more and the creatures propagating this bullshit have shot their wad…. the hold card in all of this and their desire to steal the election is?……..THEIR CANDIDATE IS JOE FUCKING O’BIDEN!!!!….LOLOLOL…..
  10. A non-satanist ruling elite would have set limits on the meat industry per person per day because it requires the slaughter of life. Same with non-slaughter harvest.
  11. That is not at all how I saw people at my grocery store behaving in Toronto.
    Sure there was no ass wipe but people generally took a bit extra but did not make pigs of themselves.
    BC is our Leftie space, and as everyone knows lefties really are and inconsiderate group of assholes.
    He deserves all the shit & hate he is getting.
    I am No Angel but if anyone asks me for some food etc. I will give what I can.
  12. Saw an interesting video on you tube for all you chicken owners about Waterglassing eggs. I grew up spending lots of time on a farm but this was new to me. You have to have fresh unwashed eggs though. Store bought won’t do. Will keep for a very long time with no refrigeration.
  13. I never dreamed that T.P. would be a welcomed gift for any occasion.
    I have lived through the GREATEST years this country has ever offered, sad to say, so many will NEVER experience the same.
  14. I’m eating roast venison tenderloin as we speak. I have a large freezer full of game meat including deer and bear. I share with those in need. If the time ever comes that I might run low, I only have to dispatch a feral hog. They are plentiful and easy to find around here and there is no season on them.
  15. Anonymous, you have no idea what you are talking about. The only reason teachers get paid in the summer is if they request their pay is spread over 12 months instead of just 9 months.
  16. Terrace is in the middle of nowhere. Getting groceries in there isn’t a daily event I’m sure.
    Way to go asshole. Hopefully a 1000 lb brownie breaks into your place, eats all the meat, and you with it.
  17. Marilyn, I saw the video of the couple loading up two trucks with all the TP, Kleenex, and TP from a freshly stocked Dollar Store. I also saw both their license plates as did the local authorities, their neighbors, and the chan autists (justice hackers) online.
    They are most certainly going to regret this selfish act.
  18. I saw a lady in the checkout with an entire cart loaded with every single bottle of cooking oil that was on the shelf. I even went in the aisle to see if there was any left, nope, all cleared out. WTF would you do with all that oil???
    > I THINK I MAY HAVE IT TOO.. IT’S USEFUL IN KEEPING EX-GIRLFRIENDS, FAMILY ASSHOLES, AND INLAWS AWAY!!
    Damn it, @Benito! You and your filthy, contamnated electron bits! Now I’ve been exposed!
    Lucky for him they closed the border. I don’t think the girls in Canada get much over 500 pounds.
  21. Douche.
    It’s actually gotten worse here in Phoenix… my sister and I are both pretty sure we have it (over a week now of flu symptoms and no change or relief) and our toilet paper supply is low… and our local frys, target, costco don’t have any. (Or any rice, pasta, beans, etc).
    I’m really exhausted at this point. -_-
  22. Dear chuffed-beyond-words,
    I’m sorry you’re sick. Is it quite bad? Are you going to ask to be tested for it or just ride it out? Do you have someone to take care of you? Does your sister? I’d like to send you supplies, but we’re in the same situation here in Seattle. I thought we were good in the tp department, but we’ll soon be out (haven’t bought or been able to buy any though all this). Fortunately,for us, people have not been hoarding fresh produce.
  23. I’m not sure if the doctor will see either of us unless we’re wheezing or something… I’ve already called twice this week and they pretty much refused me an appointment…
    It’s not terribly bad, nonstop headache, body aches, heavy feeling in the chest, dry throat, dry cough (And random bouts of nausea).
    The only huge problem is that it’s been around 7 days and no change. It isn’t better and it’s not exactly worse.
    I DO have my mom (we both live with her) but she’s unable to drive right now so I’m relying on the kindness of my younger brother for running errands and getting food…
    I’ll pray for you and yours that the situation improves. This is just so insane. :l
