New Jersey’s fate seems to be a lefty governor once again after Chris Christie’s approval ratings have slipped into the twenties.
The perception is that Christie turned his back on the state while seeking a bigger fish fry, returning only to issue a gas tax hike.
The republican frontrunner is tied to Christie so closely it would be hard to shake off the stink. That leaves the democrat, Goldman Sachs executive Phil Murphy, a clear path.
Enter Joe Piscopo, who is planning on running as a republican even though he’s been a democrat his entire life. He’s been a conservative democrat, which, in New Jersey, is about all you can expect.
Piscopo is a staunch union supporter, but has been sounding more right-wing on his radio show. He traveled with the Trump campaign and has been hanging around with Roger Stone.
Are these true converts?

Another progressive/socialist Republican comedian will threaten Lyin’ Ryan and Mealy Mouth McCONnell.
An interesting turn of events, people actually wanting to run as Republicans instead of Democrats. I think that says a lot about where people see the Democrat brand right now.
Yeah, and both Murkowski and Collins ran as Republicans too.
……but they are really Democrats in disguise.
Judge them by their fruits.
It is some strange times we live in.
I don’t know whether to love it or hate it, but it is definitely transformational.
I *think* we are slowly winning.
I’ve heard him talk a few times and he sounds more like a throwback to the Democrats from the 50’s or early 60’s before the real rot set in. I think he’s smarter than Al Franken and may make a good Governor or, at the least, he couldn’t be worse.
What did William F Buckley say? Something like…you vote for the most conservative candidate that can actually win. We’re talking New Jersey here, folks.
Here’s the WFB quote….
“The wisest choice would be the one who would win. No sense running Mona Lisa in a beauty contest. I’d be for the most right, viable candidate who could win. If you could convince me that Barry Goldwater could win, I’d vote for him.”
All governors should be ex celebrities, that will work.
don’t we have enough clowns in congress?
