A judge upheld the second-degree murder and manslaughter charges Thursday against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in connection to the death of George Floyd in May.
Hennepin County Judge Peter A. Cahill granted part of the defense’s motion and dropped the third-degree murder charge against Chauvin.
And there I was thinking the medical examiner determined it was all the drugs he had in him that killed him. The Biggest tragedy here is the cops responded before he died.
Maybe Amy Klobuchar can defend him – again.
Murder AND manslaughter? Well, why not throw in some other charges while we’re at it? Like maybe assault, bodily injury, violation of civil rights, harassment, illegal detainment, etc. Not to mention blocking a roadway.
😉
Is there anything even left to burn in Minneapolis?
Canonizing thugs instead of patriots and heroes. This it why elections get replaced by revolutions occasionally.
Spewed by the Gov, “Important step toward justice for George Floyd.” Great, super, some more of that just-us justice.
Floyd had a fatal level of fentanyl in his blood as well as a cocktail of other drugs. Didn’t I read that the coroner said had they found Floyd dead in his apartment it would have been ruled an OD?
He was complaining of not being able to breath while he was sitting in the police car, well before he was allowed to lie down in the street, a standard practice to alleviate difficult breathing(isn’t it?).
With his CHD and toxic levels of drugs, he was a dead man walking.
In the meantime this LEO was using practices out lined in training by the MPD.
I’ve been living in small towns for over 30 years to escape this diversity plague. Now the last line, the police are getting fucked over. I’m no fan of the police but combine the Fergusen Effect with near confiscation level gun control and you’ve got a perfect formula for big jumps in crime.
And guess what? yeah
Thank you George Soros. For the love of God Trump prosecute this guy, he is the money behind all of this evil.
And the father of the baby who died in his car last week, was charged with “child abuse neglect, or endangerment resulting in substantial bodily harm of the child”. Not manslaughter, not murder.
Now his mother is arguing against any charges against him.
He didn’t want to pay for a replaced window on his new car, but he can afford $20K bail.
They can charge him with whatever they want. It still has to get past the jury.
His fentanyl dealer was unavailable for comment
Dropping the charges that are easier to get convictions, leaving only the more difficult charges, sometimes works in the defendant’s favor.
It would be really cool if they dismissed all charges on November 3rd. Lets get this party started. To be clear, that cops an asshole and I could give a shit what happens to him.
To repeat:
“…all the cops are criminals
And all the sinners saints.”
If Chauvin’s legal team is good, they should be able to raise a reasonable doubt about whether Chauvin’s actions caused Floyd’s death. The medical examiner’s report is not a legal verdict, but it can certainly be used in argument. Members of the jury may be worried that they will be blamed and targeted if they acquit Chauvin, however.
If you can talk, you can breathe.
And if you put drugs up your pooper, you’ll discover how easily your body absorbs them from down there. Adios pendejo.
