Kid charged as an adult because he’s a minor – IOTW Report

Kid charged as an adult because he’s a minor

You read that right.

We have another case of the law folding in on itself and looking pretty stupid.

A 16 year-old sent pictures of his junk to his girlfriend. The cops found the pictures on his phone during the investigation of an unrelated nature. Now he’s being tried as an adult because he’s a minor.

Stupidity!!!

Story here.

  1. “Barney is often overly analytical and alarmist about benign situations, such as the modest Mayberry crime scene. He takes a minor infraction, blows it out of proportion, and then concocts an elaborate solution (sometimes involving inept civilians, like Otis Campbell or Gomer Pyle) to resolve it. In one early episode, where Andy was briefly summoned away, acting sheriff Barney proceeds to book and lock up nearly everyone in town. Despite his shortcomings, Barney is zealous about law enforcement, regularly spouting off penal codes and ordinances to thugs and jaywalkers alike.”

    Well, Mayberry was in NC.

  2. Here’s another perfect example of why I think our lawfare and “justice” systems have become an evil unto themselves in many cases. It doesn’t even take criminal corruption on an individual or group level – the laws themselves are often corrupt and deliberately misapplied, but it always seems to be the citizen that suffers irreparable harm from it rather than “the system”..

  3. If I’d had access to such technology back in the 80’s, combined with the stupidity/lack of ability to reason/naïveté of teenagery, oh boy I’d have been in SO much trouble…
