With election season in high gear, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and her office have retained some high-powered legal assistance in the ongoing probe of Foxx’s controversial handling of the Jussie Smollett case.
Ruben Castillo, the former chief judge of the Northern District of Illinois and now a partner at the politically connected law firm Akerman, has been helping the state’s attorney’s office for the past three months to vet voluminous materials requested by special prosecutor Dan Webb.
In addition, Foxx has brought in well-known Washington, D.C., attorney Michael Bromwich to represent her personally in the Smollett matter, which has become a flashpoint in the Democratic primary. More
Who?
If you are a politician, especially a democrat, the cost to the tax-payer just does not matter.
Sad but true.
Liberal democrats have had their way with the American public for so long, that when we finally wake up and say ENOUGH!, they still can’t believe that they will be held accountable. And then they add insult to injury by making the taxpayer foot the bill for the defense of their indefensible criminality.
It’s like musical chairs. The music has been playing for so long that when it finally stops, who’s going to be left looking for a status quo chair to sit in? Hopefully there are a lot of politician/criminals who have nowhere to hide – and, no chair to sit in.
No matter WHAT happens,the lawyers
always walk away with the $$$…
Maybe some gutsy citizen of Chicago should file a lawsuit against Ms. Fox to force her to reveal how much the taxpayers are paying and force her to foot the bill herself.
“Neither the taxpayers nor her campaign are paying for Mrs. Foxx’s personal legal representation,” the spokeswoman said.
Huh? How does that work? Somebody is paying. George Soros?
sores-in-his-a** is paying, most likely
