KKK Robe Bought By Anonymous Buyer at Auction

Was it a coincidence that he robe went for $3000?

That’s 3K… or KKK.

The Hill-

A Ku Klux Klan hood and robe sold for $3,000 in a Pennsylvania auction on Saturday.

Scranton-area ABC affiliate WNEP-TV reported that an anonymous buyer purchased it on consignment at the Beaver Springs Auction Center.

The auction center had faced backlash for allowing the item to be auctioned off, including a call from a local pastor who called it “inappropriate,” according to WNEP.

Auctioneer Dawn Miller defended the decision to accept the robe for a consignment sale, citing its “historical” value.

“My reasoning is it’s a historical item,” Miller told the station. “They’re very valuable and they’re very collectible and it is strictly historical.”
