For the things we’ve done and left undone
For the ways we’ve wandered from your heart
Forgive us, we pray Forgive us, we pray
For the idols we put on Your throne
For the loves we choose above Your own
Forgive us, we pray Forgive us, we pray
Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on us, on us
For the lies that we clutch to our chests
For the fear that wants to steal our breath
Forgive us, we pray Forgive us, we pray
Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on us, on us
Forgiving God, forgiving us
Forgiving God, forgiving us
Forgiving God, forgiving us
Forgiving God, forgiving us
“For the fear that wants to steal our breath”
My mom used to say that God works in mysterious ways, and I’ve lost count of how many times something I needed came to me through the most ordinary of channels. This weekend I had to stop reading because some of the information about current events – not even presented in a “woe on us” manner – began to really frighten me. Most specifically, I feared so much for my son. He has a lifetime left to live, but with this? So much fear about what might happen to all of us, but especially these young kids.
At one point God must have had mercy on me, and he put the thought in my head that evil is just trying to infiltrate all my thoughts, make me despair and give up. I asked God to help me remember this, to be strong and not allow it to do that to me, to any of us.
And then I see this. God works through you, MJA, to help other people who are afraid and I’m so grateful for that. God bless.

Thank you for posting this.
I’ve never heard Kyrie Eleison done like this. Thank you, MJA. I’m fairly new to the world of Christian rock. I’ve always been drawn to The Old Rugged Cross genre. 🙂
I really needed this. Perfect timing. Thank you.
Perfect way to start the day.
God bless.
Psalm 6:2
Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
Thank-you.
