[ Norelis] Vargas is among those from Skid Row’s migrant population who have been recruited in recent weeks to work at unionized hotels in Santa Monica and near Los Angeles International Airport where workers have gone on strike. In addition to the Four Points by Sheraton hotel, migrants were hired at the Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica and the Holiday Inn LAX, according to interviews with migrants employed as temporary workers and organizers with Unite Here Local 11.
Now Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. George Gascón is launching an investigation into working conditions for migrants hired at hotels based on information brought to him by Unite Here Local 11, which represents workers involved in the largest U.S. hotel strike. Gascón said he is concerned about potential wage theft and violations of child labor law. More

Columbus, OH hotels/motels took on Somali men during Gov. Son Of A Mailman’s reign. Our central office insisted we travel to C=bus once or twice a month when a phone conference would have worked. The Somalis were following white women around and I believe, trying to get in rooms. Management tried to stop them but was not aware 24 hrs. One of these jerks met my Sig 226 while I was trying to get to my room. He backed off with a look of total hatred in his eyes. I complained and management blew it off. At the time our office was off Kimberly Parkway. If anyone knows the area it is not so nice. Drug deals and shootings in the parking lot. The IHOP’s and Steak n’ Shakes in C-bus and Canton also have loads of Somalis. They are paid to take these guys.
The LA hotel workers union heads are the most obnoxious assholes.
Will they hire Manuel from Fawlty Towers as one of their new hotel employees? It can’t get more absurd than that. And Basil Fawlty as the hotel manager.
