Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) officials raked in enormous taxpayer-funded paychecks before its fire hydrants ran dry in the fight against massive fires in the area, according to analysis by OpenTheBooks, a government transparency organization.
Eight of the top ten highest-paid city officials in Los Angeles work for the LADWP, according to OpenTheBooks’ analysis. The department saw “scores” of the fire hydrants in its purview run dry overnight as firefighters tried to contain raging fires that have destroyed hundreds of buildings and continue to be out of control, according to The Los Angeles Times.
“We had a tremendous demand on our system in the Palisades. We pushed the system to the extreme,” LADWP CEO Janisse Quiñones said Wednesday. “Four times the normal demand was seen for 15 hours straight, which lowered our water pressure.” more
All the people complaining obviously didn’t see their participation in this year’s gay pride festivities.

The next fire needs to be everyone in city,fire, and DWP governance being burned at the stake.

They used to have bumper stickers (imagine that) that said: If You Think Education Is Expensive, Try Ignorance. Whenever I saw one I said out loud: If you think education is expensive, wait until you see what universal indoctrination costs.

I always said it because I knew that she knew I was right when I told her that not only is the price of funding schools going to go through the roof, that will shrink to insignificance compared to the damage a majority of abject idiots voting will cost society. It was obvious to me as a kid that what we are seeing in LA is where their bullshit was designed to lead America. If I could know that, it is impossible that anyone who supported this bullshit and voted for Democrats was a malevolent prick who had the opportunity to know it, and they were hell bent on increasing innocent human suffering, misery and death. This was deliberate and anyone who has been paying attention knows it was irrespective of any claims of having been fooled or not. They had to know it.

It absolutely can. Aircraft can’t be used because of the windy conditions apparently. What about pumps? There doesn’t seem to be very much thinking going on right now. Anything west of the PCH should be reachable with a pump and some hoses. Go to Grainger and they’ll set them up.
Quiñones has a very impressive resume. Coast Guard incident commander for 20 years. Mechanical engineering degree. I’m not buying any of it.

I think the point of pointing out these outsized salaries is that people will (or should) be asking themselves if they came anywhere even close to getting their money’s worth. It seems obvious that’s a resounding “No!”
No matter where the location and its cost of living, those are huge salaries.
Being in the gov’t is just admission into a tyrannical criminal enterprise. No service to constituents. No knowledge required. Only requirement is syphoning taxpayer $$$ to themselves and other paying criminals. Woodchipper them all.
