  1. The Artist styles himself after Da Vinci ? Sure bud. Go spend a few months in a secret Cave receiving Messages from Beyond, and then you get your Paints back ! Fraud !!!

  2. Art created from all those people Pelosi mentioned when they lose their jobs and go on welfare they will be able to pursue “art” and other endeavors.

I have absolutely no artistic talent….neither do these dolts.
But the real idiots are those that buy it.

  3. I wish I remembered exactly where I saw it. Munich maybe. It was a painting of a war scene from the mid 1700s. It was pure action of a guy struggling to survive in a creek, grasping for a wispy branch to pull himself out of the water while a man on the shore is ready to plunge a spear into him.

I have it on a old fashioned film print.

    It totally struck me.

That is art. I stood there for 20 minutes studying it.
Modern art is the drop cloth beneath that painting, I think.

  4. PHenry I went to the MOMA in LA before I moved away from CA. I had to walk out because they put the price of the grant that each ‘artist’ received along with the ‘art.’
I saw 3 giant cereal boxes, the shell of a volkswagon with string lights going through and some asshole’s clothing nailed to a wall and I told the person I went with that they could stay, but I had to leave.
    “why?”
    — Because I feel the urge to set the place on fire.

    And then I left.
I went to look at the la brea tar pit. I watched trash floating in the pit which was more interesting than the modern art. That large mcdonald’s cup was intriguing! LOL.

  5. I was awestruck at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. I stood for 30 minutes admiring the restored The Birth of Venus by Bottocelli. You really have to see it in person to admire it. So much to see there and never enough time.

There are great artists today, but the stuff above is crap.

  6. had the privilege of seeing Michelangelo’s Pieta at the World’s Fair in NYC. I marveled at the exquisite workmanship, the artistry in creating such realism & beauty out of a slab of rock …. you could clearly make out the veins in Jesus’ hands & feet! … I was absolutely astounded

sublime beauty … I witness little in today’s ‘art world’
