The article doesn’t say specifically what this panel’s problem was with the Little House on the Prairie author.
Laura Ingalls Wilder’s name will be removed from a major award because of how the “Little House on the Prairie” author portrayed minorities in her novels, the children’s division of the American Library Association voted Saturday.
“This decision was made in consideration of the fact that Wilder’s legacy, as represented by her body of work, includes expressions of stereotypical attitudes inconsistent with ALSC’s core values of inclusiveness, integrity and respect, and responsiveness,” the Association for Library Service to Children said in a statement after the unanimous vote.

It involved her narration of the savagery of American Indians toward families moving west.
Oh, I mean “Native American savages.”
But Democrats still receive the Margaret Sanger Award and wear it as a badge of honor. Evidently, some racists are more equal than others.
Banning books, Prohibition and Eugenics…. all brought to you by the fine folks of the “Progressive” movement, professing to know whats good for you better than you do and proudly endorsed by dictators across the globe for over 100 years.
People need to know our true History, this Crap they offer up as their History is revisionist and Sissy’d up B.S.
What a bunch of low-grade morons.
If we were to judge all classic works by our current standards, the bookshelf would be empty. Her books reflect the times in which she lived. Idiot bigots!
Thanks, Sylvia. I thought maybe the little house on the prairie had a lawn jockey.
The Association for Library Service to Children. And what is the opinion of the Association of Buggy Whip Manufacturers? The Left may not be aware but they are rapidly making themselves irrelevant.

‘Nuff said?
We need to protect the children from possible racist remarks while those same children can seek and get an abortion without parental consent.
The shame of it all regarding leftism is that forcing them to ‘grow up’ is going to ultimately lead to the unnecessary deaths of many people on both sides.
Personally, I can’t see how people can experience this much evil being brought up to the surface and still not believe in the existence of God.
To me, the products of Satan is the definitive proof that God exists.
Ultimately, God will win this epic struggle.
Just call it the Winston Smith Award. All future purges can then be chucked in the memory hole with no fuss.
I’m pretty sure the same was written by tribal people about the white and black man, too. Besides, from what I remember about the shows and books of that era, they had more beef with property boundaries, water, banks and scarlet fever.
Hey, red savages are people, too!
I checked with Laura and her reply was along the lines of “I’m too dead to care.”
Lowell lol. I wonder, who else have they removed without us knowing?
The stripping of Wilder’s name from the award is but a stepping-stone to eventually renaming it “The Barak Obama Award of Perpetual Outrage.”
All future winners will have to incorporate a LGBQ couple gamefully raising a family of troubled children in an otherwise uncaring world or a social justice activist who bravely puts on a mask and beats opponents in the streets.
The fine work of the American Library Association continues apace with their erasing of American History. Besides, using an eraser beats burning books what with the pollution and all. Frankly if this group receives any federal or state support it should be cut off now. President Trump, request a pen and paper please.
OK, when are her books going to be banned?
And the TV show?
The movies?
It ends when America is dust and just a chapter in world history.
OVER MY DEAD BODY!
The left are vile and despicable. Holding period authors to contemporary standards is asinine, destructive and patently gratuitous.
“The only good indian is a dead indian.”

Custer said it first in 1868. 🙂
