UPDATE! Left-Wing Cartoonist Fired

FOR LYING ABOUT LAPD

UPDATE: He’s the Brian Williams of the cartoon world!
Listen to the audio [You’ll see how much a fibber he is], and check out the comments at his site. No mercy given!

Ted Rall, a noxious left-wing political cartoonist who has advocated violence against conservatives and on more than one occasion revealed himself as a racist, finally went too far, even for the same LA Times that champions those who threaten Jews with curb-stomping. According to the Times, in a May 11 article, Rall outright lied about a 2001 experience he had with the LAPD. [Breitbart]

  1. “He also complains about the police officer taping him and the LAPD using their resources to dig up the now 14 year-old tape.”

Kind of like what the left did to Trump and the trumped up charge of rape 14 years ago. I bet he thought that it was hilarious what the left did and now it came back to bite him on the ass for a lie.

  2. My guess is that he was fired for not being funny. Let’s face it, liberals are just a bunch of humorless hand wringers and their bitter, hate filled shtick grows old even to other left wingers.

  3. I suspect the only reason this bastard got fired was because of the outrageous lie he repeated in the opinion page recently about an incident that took place in 2001. The lies he told were so over the top and accepted by the paper both back then and now that when the cops proved with an audio tape that each and everyone of his inflammatory statements was a lie they had no choice but to throw him under the bus. As far as the LA Times is concerned his sin is not so much lying but getting caught and so completely proven to be a liar. Had they not fired him they knew that every story they reported on would be suspect even among their supporters. I wonder how long it will take him to catch on somewhere else now that he’s damaged goods.

  4. The Los Angeles Times is a left wing fish wrap. However, I suspect that the Times has figured out that even in left leaning Los Angeles, being a left wing outlet is not a business model destined for success – as MSNBC is learning. The newspaper business itself is a dying field, and there is no need to accelerate the process by catering to a small minority of the population who don’t really believe the spiel, or buy newspapers for that matter.

I suspect that Rall is only one of the first leftist loonies to be jettisoned, and that the Times will move more towards center. If there was an audience, the Times would semi-apologize for Rall’s “indiscretions” or “misrecollections,” continue running Rall’s work, and just move on like nothing happened. But this incident gives the Times an excuse to get rid of Rall, and this move should serve as a warning that other far left journalists are in danger of losing this particular forum.

I find it ironic and funny that leftists rail against capitalism, but when their brand of politics begins failing they will change course in order to follow the money. Even Democrats know that people vote with their wallets (that is why they spend so much tax money buying votes), but in the Times’ case this is more immediate and has more of an impact because the Times cannot use force to get people to buy their product.
