Leftist City To Ban Use of Natural Gas – IOTW Report

Leftist City To Ban Use of Natural Gas

Seattle’s City Council is considering the total ban on the use of natural gas for new construction. They will, however, carve out a dispensation for restaurants, because, let’s not get panicky, the elites gotta eat.

This is, once again, an attack on the lower classes. The power class will never be greatly impacted by the policies they decree for the rest of us.

  1. They floated the idea in ONTARIO under liberal Kathlene Wynn. The press coverage was so bad they recanted in 3 days.

Nat Gas is the best, cheapest, and safest way to heat a home up here in Canada anyway. Electric is the absolute most expensive.

I’ve been a heating & air service person for 33 Years.

If you live in the country with no Nat Gas service on lots of land then you can supplement with wood and your choice for Propane or Oil depending on your state prices.

  2. Clean, less expensive and safe natural gas? It figures. There are no gas lines where we live. People either run off their own or a shared well or have propane. Electric heating is too expensive.

  3. Maybe it’s different on other places, but everywhere I’ve ever lived Natural Gas has always been more reliable than electric.

FWIW, ever hear about the natural gas supply going out in a Hurricane, Tornado, major snow storm or other natural disasters?

  4. I have family in Seattle and they were typical millennial liberals until they saw liberals in action there over the last 10 years. Now they are moving conservative. In addition when you stay in the area for a bit you find that the surrounding towns are pushing the Seattle elites to keep up their agenda as people and business are leaving Seattle for elsewhere in the area.

  5. CO2 is one of the waste products on NAT GAS. The Other is H2O (water) On this site 2 weeks ago NASA stating increased CO2 is increasing the GREENING the planet. (you tube)

In professional greenhouses we install Carbon dioxide generators to INCREASE CROP YIELDS. They are essentially small burners, that in our case, are not fully vented outdoors through a chimney. Decades old concept.

The reduction in CO2 comes from switching from OIL or COAL to NATURAL GAS.

Lefty politicians still believe that CO2 is a pollutant. I Do Not believe this. The Environmentalists in the 70’s were busy trying to convert everyone to natural gas. It used to be in thetext books.

Electrical utilities are very much behind the push to get everybody wired. Wonder why$$$$$$$

  6. In the Socialist Utopia there will be two kinds of people:
Those who are cull in the summer and warm in the winter (acceptable social score)
Those who are hot in the summer and cold in the winter (unacceptable social score)

  7. My electric and gas bill year round costs me $126 a month on budget billing. I am perfectly happy with that and my older boiler operated heating system works perfectly with natural gas. Now please keep the Seattle fucktards far away from Eastern Wash., thank you!

  8. One day I was on a platform 100 miles from
shore in the Gulf. There in the middle of the
platform was a giant valve, the size of BIG suv.
It had 4″ dia. bolts holding the valve body together.
It was 97 degrees that day.The entire valve was covered
in frost. It was vibrating and shaking the platform.
When I got back to the main production platform,I was
informed that the valve had 12,000 pounds per square inch of natural gas pressure on it.WOW good thing it
didn’t blow! Ole radioationman would go up like a gnat
in a Bic lighter.Yes we got plenty NG in the gulf.

  9. Radiationman: Exactlty! Might as well keep your nuts warm in the winter with it.

Air conditioning can actually be powered by natural gas directly in what is known as an absorption system.

Instead of a compressor pumping refrigerant for cooling a boiler heats a fluid that travels in a loop, condenses outdoor & re-evaporates inside the building to create cooling.

Odd system to explain to people but it exists and works.

Invented in 1923 using Brine – salt & water with some stabilizers

  10. When my electric goes out I can still cook and heat up water though my oven won’t work because its electronic ignition. Just being able to heat things up and wash in warm water makes a huge difference when powers out.

  11. From the ST comments:

What about all the stolen butane gas canisters at homeless encampments, will those be banned, too? Will meth and heroin have to be cooked on an electric range?

  12. Our subdivision finally got natural gas service put in, but the idiot gas company did it after everyone had already rebuilt their homes after Hurricane Harvey flooding and replaced every electric appliance in the house.
