If you don’t take anything away from viewing that fantasy that masqueraded as a Vietnam war movie, Apocalypse Now, take this: Terror (or if you prefer, “horror”) works. It worked a thousand years ago, and it works today. That’s why it’s been used, and why it continues to be used by those who can summon up the level of savagery to implement it.
