It ain’t Thanksgiving without Les Nesmann and the Turkey Drop

I’m thankful I don’t live in Pinedale…

Bring back WKRP, one of the funniest shows from the late 70’s. Or at least reruns, my wife and I loved WKRP when we were first married before kids. Turkeys can fly but not if they’re dropped from a helicopter and never try to get a frozen turkey to fly, just because.

Beach Girl and I saw this episode the other day on Laff f TV(?). Hilarious!
Happy Thanksgiving to all at IOTWR!

As God is my witness…it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without WKRP and Less!

I know I’m going to get shit for this, but I don’t think this clip is that funny. I never did. But, the clip has become a Thanksgiving tradition, so I end up watching it every year anyway.

Thanks MJA for continuing this iOTWREPORT tradition!

Thanks IOTW for reminding us of a time when Tv was actually funny. WKRP was a good show that really amped up stereotypes in a good way.
The Turkey drop has got to be one of the funniest episodes in TV history. Every time I see it I laugh until my head hurts.
Sure bests anything with -ish in the title.

Bman, the clip is so funny not just because of the content, but because it is the pinnacle of each character and the show as a whole.
WKRP was the station that just couldn’t get anything right, but kept trying anyway. Each character had their own individual foibles that played off each other perfectly and reflected society at the time as well. It was classic social commentary in pure comedy without politics…truly laughing at the times with innocence but knowledge too.
It was one of a kind. And, the turkey incident was the top of the heap.
Lighten up, man. Sometimes funny is just funny, and if you don’t laugh there’s something wrong with you.

I feel sad for Bman. This clip is a Thanksgiving classic for a reason.

…we’re not liberals here, you don’t have to grouplike or grouphate, feel free to have and express an opinion and God bless you for it…
Bman, it’s cool, I get it.
For me, everyone loves Monty Python and I just don’t feel it. LOL!
Probably the only thing that made me laugh was the ” NOOOONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!” As they burst through the doors in any random scene that had nothing to do with the Spanish Inquisition. π

Also— I love the 3 stooges, even though a lot of women don’t.

MJA I too couldn’t get into Monty Python for some reason it just didn’t click, and not because of the British humor because I loved Are You Being Served!

βOh, the humanity!β Best line in the whole series. And WKRP had all the characters right, just needed a hearing impaired engineer.
