The president of a group known for its outspoken support for the implementation of New York’s congestion pricing was allegedly attacked at a subway station Saturday.

Layla Law-Gisiko, the president of the City Club of New York, said on X she was attacked at a Manhattan subway station around 3:30 p.m. Law-Gisiko said a person with a shopping cart screamed at her and spit in her hair.

“The individual followed me into the mezzanine corridor, struck me with the cart, and caused me to hit the wall. He threatened to push me down the next flight of stairs,” she wrote.

Law-Gisiko said she called 9-1-1 to report the attack. Roughly 25 minutes later, police officers took her statement and later found the individual, she said. She identified the person and police arrested him.

“I am shaken, with a bruised ankle and a sore shoulder from being pushed into the wall,” she said on X. “This has been a distressing and painful experience.” more here

  1. Ban guns and self defense and this is what always happens. Many high value politicians have 24/7 gun carrying security watching over them, paid with tax dollars taken from the worker peasants paychecks every payday. Pray for the low value peasants going back and forth to their jobs, defenseless and alone, in the deadly subways.

  2. Cry me a tear the size of a horse turd. Call someone who gives a damn. As for individuals who are into using force and coercion on others, I couldn’t care less when they suffer. Fuck ‘em.
