Liberal Lies And Slanders Are A Slippery Slope To Trouble

Kurt Schlichter; How does the left think that normal people are going to react to the left’s rejection of the idea of rational discussion and debate and it’s attempt to keep them from participating in their own governance? What does the elite think lurks at the bottom of that slippery slope? Do liberals think the normals will A) meekly submit to abuse and be cowed into submission, or B) that the normals will grow even more militant and make their voices heard in other, nastier ways?

Spoiler: The answer is B. Donald Trump is just one manifestation of the blowback against the rule-by-contempt our alleged betters currently practice. And if the election of The Donald doesn’t convince them to change their ways, what will come next will not be anywhere near as pleasant.

The ability to discuss and debate issues in good faith is a key principle essential to the maintenance of a democratic republic. Now, this is a real principle, not one of those bogus principles of convenience Fredocon fellow travelers endlessly babble about, like “As True Conservatives™, we must lose like gentlemen,” or “Fighting back is icky and scary and not who we are.”

The principle of reasoned debate is critical. If the American people can’t use reason to determine how to govern our country then that leaves…hitting each other over the head, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of having a democratic republic.  more here

  2. Terrific commentary on the tactics of the international Left.

But what’s this about a “democratic republic”? The form of America’s government is not a democratic republic but a federal republic. To wit (as D. Gorman would say):

“The United States of America is a federal republic. It is “federal” in that it has a single national government as well as a collection of states and territories, each with its own government and empowered to enact local laws. It is a “republic” in that voters elect representatives and officials to act on their behalf.

To say otherwise — as in “democratic” — is conceding that the Left has any claim whatsoever.

  3. California has become a Banana Republic:
    The Gubernatorial primary election Booklet…
Is it disorganized and chaotic in nature,
There are 14 candidates for governor, Plus for one write in,
11 for Lt. Gov, 45 candidates for Senate,
    Nice work, MORONS,
This must be a preview of how Jerry Brown’s mind works.

    A) yes

    B) “nastier”? Of course. That’s what they are. More effective?…

The “Not the Communists” have said it loud, said it proud, for generations, very profitable generations, that the only way to defeat communism is to support it until the communists have decided that they’ve had enough.

Loyal patriots define “honor” as doing what they “know” to be the wrong thing. Because they’re “only following orders”. The more vile the evil, the greater their “fidelity”.

“Everyone” agrees that the “peaceful ‘transfer’ of power” can only be defined as peaceful, as legitimate, as having the Mandate of Heaven, if it is the Hobson’s choice of whoever The Party is willing to list, as eligible to take the throne The Party has created, to be voted on by those The Party is willing to allow to vote, to be counted by The Party, according to The Party rules, the result being accepted or rejected by The Party, at The Party’s discretion, subject to change without notice.

The Party are “liberals”, people on “the Right Side of History”. Why should they think history will change?

Those who disagree are, clearly, not “normal”. Nor will “their” radical agenda, to “burn it all down” (according to loyal Party members), be, even accepted, let alone supported, by the great unwashed mass. The normal people. The common folk. The patriots. The deplorable. That… is not what they are.

    > “The United States of America is a federal republic.

And slavery is legal. And the federal government can not tax the citizens. And alcohol is legal. I mean illegal. Legal, again?

Whatever somebody claims the government “was”, doesn’t matter after the government has declared itself “fundamentally transformed”.

  6. @Anonymous – I don’t care what someone “declares” the country to be. It’s what the written black letter laws say it is that guide the country and Abigail is correct – this is designed and operates as a federal republic.

    > I don’t care what someone “declares” the country to be.

    That someone was the government.

    > the written black letter laws say it is that

Even the Constitution, the fundamentally transformed union, contradicted itself (none dare call them lies) on “federation” or “new nation”. It then added the “subject to change without notice” “amendments” factor. Which have been explicitly used to be sure that “federation” is known to be “not so”. And folded in — I know, I know, it’s now the primary component, but it was initially added — rule by regulation, not legislation. That removes any fig leaf of “republic”.

    > this is designed and operates as a federal republic

It was designed in a way that could function as a republic. It was designed in a way that could function as a federation. The former was claimed to be the purpose. The latter was claimed, at the time, to be the things one says in politics, to get on with ruling. I’m sure you’ll be shocked to see that the former, in the hands of the same people as the latter, has gone the same way, as well.
