Scientists have declared the longest living vertebrate is the Greenland shark. Using estimates of the animal’s annual growth rate, which they figure to be a centimeter a year, they’ve deducted that the animals can live nearly 400 years in their frigid environment.
And talk about frigid, they also figured that the animals may have to wait up to 100 years before having sex. More
240 year range for something that lives 400 years. 40% is a far cry from the 98% accuracy the climate change scientists claim, maybe they should compare notes. Who knows, maybe these sharks are eating the ice cap. You don’t know until you know.
“…wait up to 100 years before having sex”, huh?
Sounds like my first wife.
😉
@Vietvet. LOL My ex said I could have sex every night; with myself, and that’s why she’s my ex.
And here I always thought Land Sharks were just a funny skit on SNL!
Learn something on here every day!
If the correct growth rate is 1/2 centimeter, they are twice as old as suspected,
this is about as scientific as spin the bottle.
@extirpates: Let’s not be too hasty, now. As a young adolescent, I made many meaningful scientific discoveries playing spin the bottle…
😘
I’d call it “The Hillary.” For pure sticktootiveness. Ugliness too !
