It’s far different to have a military that fights to preserve the concept of liberty than to have a military that fights its own citizenry to keep them from exploring and exercising freedom. But this jerk sees a tank and has the same reaction to it no matter who is sitting in it, and for what cause.

I’d like to see dozens of protesters show up at the parade, only to find out once they got there that the parade was actually on the other side of town. The parade plays out in front of a YUGE patriotic crowd with not a protester in sight, is broadcast around the world, and liberal heads go Louis del Grande all over the place. And no PVT gets stuck hosing some moron’s guts out of Abrams treads.
I’m against it. Call me old fashioned but I think communists should be given free helicopter rides instead of VIP tank tours.
I like the idea of aborting parades. If you just can’t help yourselves, burning all that cash on fuel, permits, clean-up, just have one of the bean counters total up what it’s gonna’ cost, and send a check to the VA. Wave at it as it rolls away in the mail truck, if you insist.

To be honest with you, I hope we dont have a military parade with tanks and whatnot. A National Veterans day parade, fine. We dont need a full soviet style parade. I hope that isnt in the works.

Coming back from killing chinks for JFK I got off the plane at the AF base in Riverside. On the way to the bus to LB a soccer spit on me. I took a good look at his face. much later when I got off the LB base I went to my apt. took of my uni. Put on some old college clothes. Drove out to Riverside and went bar hopping. I found the SNCer. Casually walker around behind him. Then crushed his kidneys, and hopefully broken some ribs, and maybe a vertebrae. Walked away as he fell. Took a long tour to my car and then carefully drove back to LB. I know not how much dirt I did – but I hope he spent at least 15 days in hospital!
