  1. That is sincerely sad and a loss to the music world, but God has added an incredible voice to His Heavenly choir. May He bless and comfort that family and all those who loved her, and give them Blessed Assurance that absent from the body is present with the Lord.

  2. A great woman and fantastic singer/writer. As was he role model Patsy. I will miss ’em both now.

Went to he homy in KY. She was a great fan of America’s #1 song writer; and my all time Eastern Hillbilly singer (I am biased; 11th gen Cal on mom’s side so my favs are the Bakersfield boy: Buck, Merle and Merle.) She had all of his albums and several pics of him in her room.
None of the articles I’ve read mention hank.
Probably the same reason many DJ’s would not play his songs sung by him. A man made a giant fortune singing Hank’s songs where the DJ’s would not play Hank, Kids born after 1960 remember him for “I Left my heart in Frisco”. Tony Bennet was a very rich man covering hank before he recorded tht.

  3. Her and Patsy Cline IMHO were/are/is the greatest country western singers ever. Dolly Parton doesn’t hold a candle to those two. Even Loretta’s sister Crystal Gayle, wasn’t a match either. JMHO.

  4. I met Loretta and her husband, Moony, in Waikoloa Hawaii where they had a vacation home. They invited me and my wife (at the time) for a dinner party along with some of her neighbors. They were gracious and genuine and we left feeling as though we made friends. Occasionally I would see her walking through the neighborhood early in the morning and she would always say hello. Godspeed Loretta and thanks for your music and kind heart.

  6. @You Know What I Mean: That’s one of my all-time favorite country hymns. It’s also a saying that I use often: Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die. Thanks for sharing, I’ll play it for DH tonight.
