Amid high inflation numbers and other deteriorating economic conditions, a significant majority of Americans fear they will be unable to pay their housing costs in the next year, according to a recent poll.
The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) poll revealed that 62% of Americans are somewhat or very concerned about the issue. Moreover, 69% feared rising housing costs in general while 58% said they had already witnessed an increase. Housing expenses went up by at least 30% for 6% of respondents.
Freddie Mac conducted the poll June 6-10 at a time when gas prices reached their peak and inflation was at record highs. more here

Amid not being able to afford a home, Illinois has “Amendment 1” on the ballot in November. It transfers power over taxpayer money to government worker unions. Giving government union leaders virtually limitless new ways to demand higher costs from taxpayers. It grants government unions unprecedented bargaining powers as a “fundamental right,” including the power to override voters and state lawmakers. When it passes (it will, sure as Pritzker will be reelected Governor) because it’s disguised as “workers rights amendment,” the average property tax will increase $2100 over the next 4 years, for starters. That’s after the average home has already paid $2000 more under Pritzker.
A few more years of this, IL will be the highest taxed state.
To smooth over and “rescue families” from inflation, IL is giving homes that make less than $400k (married) a whopping $50 in stimulus because of “democrats responsible budgeting.” (they actually said this)
They are getting away with this because people are leaving the state that is keeping home prices suppressed in relation to other democrat hellholes. Average home prices in the utopia of Chicago are “only” up 10% the past year. Of course, if you want a home that’s not in the ghetto, those prices are up 30%.
I hate this state so much, but I’m pretty sure IL hates its citizens just as much if not more.

And meanwhile a new diesel truck will cost you around 100K. But they’ll finance it for 15 years.
Expect to see mortgages go to 40 and 50. This can’t sustain it self.

Joe Btsfplk, I am praying for President Trump a lot lately because I honestly believe that he is a man after God’s heart like David was. Even though he is a sinner like we all are somehow he has found favor with God and the American people to help restore this great nation to its founding principles. I liken him to the prophet Nehemiah rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem with all the opposition of the deep state disciples just like Sanballat and Tobiah, the smooth-talking emissaries of the ancient Jewish government who attempted to dissuade Nehemiah from rebuilding the wall. One of my favorite TS Eliot poems is Choruses from “The Rock”, in which TS describes Nehemiah rebuilding the wall. Part 5 is the key where Nehemiah says, “O Lord, deliver me from the man of excellent intention and impure heart: for the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite and Geshem the Arabian: were doubtless men of public spirit and zeal. preserve me from the enemy who has something to gain: and from the friend who has nothing to lose.
