Dennis Michael Lynch: Pretending to talk on a cellphone, a man at Miami International Airport was caught on video jumping onto a luggage carousel on Saturday.
The footage shows him casually strolling past an empty security checkpoint at the American Airlines ticket counter and then diving into a luggage conveyor belt.
At this time, little is known about the intruder who ultimately made his way onto the runway and airport ramp.
In a second video, he is seen being chased by a group of airport employees in neon vests. A third video shows the same man being handcuffed by police as he lays on the ground.
The footage was provided to the Miami Herald by a source who wished to remain anonymous.
The unidentified man was able to get past a highly-restricted area that most employees don’t even have access to, the source said. Watch the video here.

You don’t do a dry run where the result will be guaranteed to be a tightening of security in the area you are testing. You do a dry run to see if you can get away with something.

@reboot: Uh, security people communicate, you know. They wouldn’t just be tightening up things at that one airport after this guy’s stunt. They’re going to be reviewing luggage carousel security at ALL airports, and plugging holes where necessary.
