Man Proposes To Woman and Asks That Her Sister Be Included as a “Package Deal”

It’s not what you think.

This is a nice story-

NYP-

A man from Indiana has gone above and beyond to include his girlfriend’s younger sister in his marriage proposal.

When Will Seaton started dating Ashley Schaus in 2010 he was told her and her sister Hannah, who has Down syndrome and diabetes, were a “package deal.”

From then on Hannah was invited to the majority of the couple’s dates, so it was only natural that she would be included when Seaton popped the question in March last year.

Seaton got down on one knee in a field of flowers near their home in Santa Claus, Indiana and asked Hannah to be his “best friend forever” before turning to Ashley and asking her to marry him.

“It was the sweetest moment in my whole life watching Hannah be so happy and feeling so special,” Ashley told Fox 5.

“And then he looked at me as I was trying to stop sobbing. I asked ‘Am I next?’ Then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.”

Seaton planned every detail of the proposal, even presenting Hannah with her own ring, an heirloom that belonged to the sisters’ grandmother.

Hannah was reportedly thrilled at Seaton’s gesture to include her in his proposal, giving insight into their special relationship by adding that “He takes me fishing and makes funny jokes. He makes me laugh and takes care of me.”

The wedding is planned for October, with Ashley saying her younger sister will be a major part of the ceremony.

  1. A double commitment ceremony! As a former practitioner serving these folks I am always delighted to see someone pick up the responsibility to assist and remain in their lives. It takes guts and goes counter to the Hollywood definition of family and marriage.

    Thanks for a positive story.

  2. The man is as close to being a saint as anyone can be.
The Chinese say: “No good deed goes unpunished” which I hope is untrue, at least, in this instance.

    izlamo delenda est …

  3. FWIW- the “progressive” left wing’s precious Margaret Sanger would have advocated to euthanize Hannah. America’s leftwing in the 20’s and 30’s advocated to euthanize everyone with Down’s, those committed to psychiatric hospitals, those with severe birth defects, etc.

The left’s other branch of socialism, the National Socialists in 1930’s Germany, used the American Left’s policies as the basis for justifying killing everyone who was a Useless Eater. In turn, that opened the door to the Holocaust and the ovens of Auschwitz.

    Fuck You, Socialists!

  4. If this story starts getting national coverage, I’ll give the liberal media about ten minutes to start debunking this story and claiming it’s a “Hoax!”.

You know it’s going to happen. It always does.

    Nine, eight….

  5. Tony R, I first proposed to my wife on Christmas Day 2000. It was August 2007 before we finally got around to tying the knot. Sometimes life just gets in the way. And good things are worth waiting for.
