Mark Meadows: GOP Will Appeal to Surveillance Court Over Choice to Oversee FBI Reforms

Daily Signal: Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., said Monday that congressional Republicans plan to appeal to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) over its choice to oversee the FBI’s surveillance reforms in the wake of a damning inspector general’s report regarding the bureau’s wiretapping of Carter Page.

In an interview with journalist Sara Carter, Meadows criticized the FISC’s pick of former Justice Department official David Kris to assist the court to ensure that the FBI implements the reforms.

“I can tell you that a few of us are not only appealing this to the judge who has now taken over the FISA process but we are also looking at this when it comes to renewing the FISA process within Congress,” Meadows told Carter. MORE

  1. Wray, Atkinson, van Grack, Kris…The Deep State bench is deep, the fix is in, and we’re being ushered to the exits so the swampers can set up the election show. Move along, people.

  2. Ummm, doesn’t Barr have jurisdiction over the FBI? Why doesn’t he tell the FISC to pick someone who may actually do a good job at cleaning up that toilet and not such an obvious foot soldier for the left/deep state who would likely tank the job. Hell, there’s plenty of other jobs for Kris, like in Fairbanks, Alaska.

  3. Get rid of it.
America survived some 200 years before this abomination and can get on quite well without it.
It’s a handy abuse, built in, and ready to be exploited.
Both the court AND the FBI have proven themselves corrupt.
You can’t run a dead horse (you also can’t stop its rot).

    izlamo delenda est …
