  1. Sorry he passed from what should have been a preventable disease. I suppose he was an OK actor but I never saw him in anything except BP, which I did not think deserved the accolades it received… the plot was too predictable. There’s always some humor in Marvel films, but the funniest thing about the movie was not in the film itself, it was the black folks trying to book travel to Wakanda. Now THAT was funny.

  2. Black Panther was okay as part of the Avengers.
However, I tried watching the Black Panther movie in the free on demand movies. I couldn’t get more than 5 or six minutes into it.

    “pediatric oncology”

…just two words, but oh how they touch the heart…

….any time you folks with healthy kids or adult children feel like you had it bad, spend some time in THIS ward, with THESE kids, and their parents, and you’ll get a lesson in humility that’ll last a lifetime…They have other word combos too, like “osteogenic sarcoma”, that will teach you to hug your kids tight…

  4. I’ve been in those “Drip Rooms” for Chemo and seen some kids that look like they just don’t care anymore. It’s heartbreaking. You just want to jump up and scream at them to get in the fight. Cancer sucks. I didn’t know this guy was visiting Pediatric Cancer Patients. I’ve got a whole new level of respect for him.

  5. I was a bit shocked about the sad news of Chadwick Boswman’s passing. He must have been a very private person to hide his condition so well.
Boseman was a Hollyweird left leaning true believer, yet, he seemed like a decent man – not an arrogant demwit. Praying his family is comforted by the grace of God.
He was an excellent actor who portrayed; Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall and James Brown. Consider him an ultra liberal version of Denzel Washington. May he rest in peace.

  6. Cancer doesn’t care who it strikes or how it strikes, it’s how you strike back. Some people beat cancer and some are overcome by it. I’ve lost family and friends to it – all tragic as they left behind family and friends who were praying for them. It’s no one’s fault, it just gives those remaining to see how short our lives are and can be taken at any age. Cherish life, it’s a gift.

  7. Supernightshade, you’re exactly right. My job was in a dental school building that was next to a hospital. I was experiencing some tough times financially trying to raise a child as a divorced, single parent, so I was having a pity party.
One day, I went to the hospital snack room for lunch. I went past some waiting rooms and saw people who were obviously facing life and death situations. My pity party seized to be relevant in comparison. I was so thankful me and my son were healthy and safe.
Sometimes, whenever I felt down, I would just walk through that hospital just to adjust my perspective and attitude. That may sound narcissistic, but I needed a reminder of how grateful I should be.

  8. As Bad Brad said I have a lot of respect for his visitations. Years ago I didn’t want to be in the bleeping chemo chair. It was especially heart breaking to see the children waiting some looking gray and some looking as though you could see through them. May he rest in peace with the angels.

I’d also like to add there’s no black, white, brown or yellow cancer survivors. There’s only cancer survivors. It’s a club that you are initially not to interested in joining but eventually glad you’re there. Hard to explain I guess.
