Producer Castle Rock Entertainment announced today that the sequel to the 1984 cult classic This Is Spinal Tap recently began production in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Rob Reiner is directing and Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer are all reprising their roles as the comic heavy metal band, Spinal Tap.
Reiner will also return as the documentarian Martin “Marty” DiBergi. The film will feature cameos from Elton John, Paul McCartney, Questlove, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. More
Reiner’s involvement means this is as dead as a high school biology fetal pig to me.
How many anti-MAGA references will ruin the movie?
Meathead at it again?
Rob Reiner. ‘Nuff said.
Rob Reiner is directing..
Nope..
Rob Reiner or not, the original was pretty funny. That said, sequels are rarely as good as the original. I also liked the Ruttles documentary “All you need is Cash”.
40 years later? It should be titled “This is Biopsy”.
I didn’t see the first one so there isn’t much sense in me watching this.
Reiner
Elton John
Paul McCartney
Garth Brooks
Trisha Yearwood (?)
Reads like a puke-fest, anyway.
mortem tyrannis
izlamo delenda est …
Thanks for the warning.
I watched the original This is Spinal Tap back then and didn’t have a desire to watch it again… until now. It wasn’t horrible and it wasn’t great, just OK as best as I remember.
The remake?
Yeh, it’s gonna suck.
Pass
It’ll be big in Japan, anyway.
can’t stand meathead and never caught the first spinaltap anyway
not a big beatlefan anymore, esp that lennon whining out at Xmas
they seemed to give him a rest this past year
Rob Reiner is directing… just call it Spinal Crap!
i would not wipe my ass with anything from the ******-jino reiner
Missed the first one & see no reason to see this one.
Per the thread, a lot of interest. Reiner WAS a comedic talent long ago. He’s exhibited no such characteristic in the last twenty odd years and his insufferable politics will surely piss all over the campfire.
knob reiner. his father carl reiner was a ww2 vet & superb comedian, unlike offspring.
They had better hurry up with production before some these people drop dead.
high probability the assholes were on crank then, still doing it now
My only exception to my rule of not watching anything produced or directed by Reiner was to see Spinal Tap. It was OK. The lineup for the next one, no thanks. Michael “tub-o-shit” Moore is the one never watch rule I’ll never break.
None of the dialogue in the original movie was scripted. I wonder if they will take that same approach this time.
Meathead made some good movies – Stand By Me, When Harry Met Sally, etc. If he’s doing remakes it’s because he’s out of new ideas.
no thanks, I’m saving up to see the Bruce Springsteen biopic starring robert deniro
The first movie was a look into the life of simple-minded people thrust into the limelight of fame and fortune. It gave them powers they weren’t used to and it changed them into idiots.
Hummm, could that be a representative of most of our political left?
Anyway, I will not watch the new movie. I get enough leftist crap already.
