The temperature is rising in the battle to lead Senate Republicans, with Sens. John Thune (S.D.) and John Cornyn (Texas) facing a one-week sprint to win the top spot after the GOP clinched control of the upper chamber.

    Which tells me that neither should get the nod.

    We need a Senate leader who Trump wants, he is the one who got the huge mandate 2 days ago. The work ahead is going to take a united front, cooperation, and some self-less dedication, all should be on the same page, pushing in the same direction. Trump is “The Man” now, give him who he wants and lets get to work.

  2. There aren’t any totally suitable candidates, but if we can’t have Rand Paul I’ll settle for Rick Scott.

    I’d like to have Vance in that spot but he’s otherwise occupied. Beneficially occupied, I should add!

    I usually cringe when I see turtle roadkill, but not this time.
