Daily Caller: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein authorized the special counsel’s office to investigate former Trump campaign Chairman Paul Manafort’s Ukrainian lobbying activities as well as possible collusion with Russian government officials, according to a court filing late Monday night.
Special counsel Robert Mueller made the revelation in order to defend the scope of the investigation against a motion that Manafort filed on March 14 to dismiss his case.
Manafort argued that Rosenstein’s May 17, 2017, appointment of the special counsel only allowed Mueller to investigate alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government and not his pre-election political consulting work. Manafort, a longtime Republican lobbyist, noted that his consulting work in Ukraine occurred well before he joined the Trump campaign in April 2016.

The swamp is far too interconnected. If she were at serious risk for going up the river, there’s no telling who she and Bill might flip on from all sides of the aisle, to take down with them.
In fact, wouldn’t be surprised that, if it looked like she was going to be prosecuted, she’d take that long train ride home to Arkansas by way of Ft. Marcy Park.
There is literally absolutely NOTHING I put beyond the capacity of these people. If someone proved beyond a doubt that they all are gender-fluid sodomites who rape and eat children, I would be shocked and horrified to my core but not the least bit surprised.

I remember that Manafort brought in the Podestas – the biggest lobbying group in DC – for some of the Ukraine deals. The Podestas were Russia’s primary lobbyists. As I recall, they registered as foreign agents at the same time as Manafort, once it was learned neither did.
Is the probe into the defunct Podesta lobbying organization part of this?
