Message From Eugenia

Please let the group know their prayers worked and were greatly appreciated.  So many seem to have their own personal pain and burdens.

The good news is I recovered faster than most, walked the halls like a fiend and have manageable pain. and the sutures come out in 2 weeks.  Oh yes and no corona.

  4. Thanks again. Happy to hear Claudia is doing well.

No corona, prefer boch beer or Theakston Old Peculier Ale. What about a Kelly Clamp instead. One was missing after the surgery and various xrays had to be taken. No wonder recovery seemed so long. They didn’t find it in me. It must be in the same place as my missing eye glasses.

  5. as long as you all are in a praying mood,

i had a total knee done last tuesday and it continues to swell and hurts like hell. I could use some supernatural help here.

  6. To Claudia and Eugenia –

Soon you’ll hear the birds of Spring while sipping a coffee in the morning sun. Not a bad thing to look forward to, all things considered!

And Charlie, I’ve heard that comment from relatives who’ve had knee replacements. Are you doing the flexing exercises as directed? They say you really have to slug through them before the pain goes down.

  7. Sorry Charlie (yeah ….. it’s bad but I couldn’t resist). I’ll gladly add you to my prayers.

Are you icing your knee every couple of hours? I use ice cubes in a quart zip lock bag, but a big bag of frozen veggies or peas works ok too (and you can refreeze them many times over after you use them for icing. You can also make your own ice packs with some rubbing alcohol or antifreeze and water (I think) – you can search online for DIY ice packs. You may have to start slow until you can stand it for several minutes or longer (I do about 45 minutes on my knee – about 15 min on one side, the top and the other side).

According to the orthopedic surgeon that did 6 of the 9 surgeries I’ve had on my right knee (5 major reconstructions and a few others), icing breaks up the “pain cycle” and it has helped me for many years (I ice my right knee at least once a day).

Also, turmeric / curcumin with a black pepper extract can help with the inflammation and pain both immediately and long term. You can get it at Puritan’s Pride, Swanson vitamins or other places online cheaper than you can get it retail.

  8. thanks Jimmy and Eugenia.

believe me i heard all the horror stories from everyperson on the planet who had a total done. But, they all acted like champs and it was easy peaszy, yah it hurts but its worth it in the end, blah blah blah, just blurt it out, you want to cry like a baby when you cant bend your knee. Frikkin pain pills. I’ve been dealing with them for decades and i wanted to be DONE with them. Now i have to eat even more. I just deleted a couple more paragraphs but you all may get my drift here. Thanks for your prayers, it is an encouragement as many here can testify.

@ Bubba, my freezer has a hernia from carrying all those freezer packs . I rotate 6 of them every waking hour and each time i wake at night which is way to dam often. Muscle relaxers, sleeping pills, pee pills, stool losener,.

Its the encouraging words that help, Christ told us your Faith has made you whole. I’m counting on building that up.
    Thanks All.
The bed and the pain relief it offers beckons.

  9. Hey Charlie – it’s been my experience (for the most part) after the major surgeries that on about day 6 or 7, there is a substantial reduction in the pain intensity, and it pretty rapidly gets better from there. I hope this holds true for you. If it doesn’t get any better after a couple of weeks, you need to go to your doctor and get him to do a thorough exam (and maybe give him a vigorous throat massage just for good measure).

I need a joint replacement but my body has rejected every foreign material that has been implanted over the years including titanium bone staples, stainless steel screws and a goretex ligament (that was an experimental ACL replacement about 30 years ago). I’m going to stick with what I’ve got as long as possible.

I’ll keep the prayers going on my end and hope the healing power of Christ comes your way soon.

“as long as you all are in a praying mood,”

Apologies, CWW, I shut down before I saw your comment and didn’t see your prayer request until now, althogh I’m sure God knows your need and is moving on it, I will add my prayers for you for a mighty move of the Lord. The prayer list is long, but our Lord is great enough for all.

Dear Jesus, we come to You today on behalf of another of Your children in dire need, who’s calling on Your name in hope and in faith as You command, that he may have relief from pain and full and complete healing. Due to my own problems that You have moved on and for which I thank and praise You, I have a dim understanding of this pain, and know it can command a human life and distract us from hearing Your voice and praying on those knees to You. This is the worst part of it, that we are distracted by our frail bodies from the good things of God, that we are focused on our pain instead of Your glory. For this reason we ask in the healing name of Jesus thst you walk around thus man’s bedside, numb his pain and heal him from the inside out as only You, the Ultimate Physician, can truly do. He praises you with or without pain, and he and we all stand upon Your word in this, and in all things, that the healing that is asked for in Your name is already on the way, and we look forward to a praise report from him for the miracle You will perform in this man’s body as a sign to us all, and reward this faith with Your healing that he may have a testimony to add to Your praise.

And we ask it all in the precious name of Jesus,
    Amen.

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
    Mark 9:23

“But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.”
    Luke 8:50

“And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.”
    Mark 10:52

  13. @Charlie Walksonwater. I am sorry to hear of your pain after knee replacement and pray for swift relief. When both knees were replaced 12 years ago the pain was the most ungodly ever experienced. Standing up the first time I thought I would die from it and had a first and only panic attack. It was many times more painful then the cancer I had years before. The pain control was inadequate.

Things that helped were the prayers from church and friends, a rehab clinic that used oxycontin and the twice a day dreaded PT. I pray you get much needed relief and mobility.
