Dolenz sings R.E.M.
His use of old films of his youth is nice, but is he saying this is when he was shiny and happy?

He has a nice tone to his voice, but he’s “talking” more than singing.
First off, R.E.M. is a very underrated band. In my opinion. 2nd, I’m very glad Dolenz is still and alive and yes for his age he sounds great. 3rd, growing old sucks, I refuse to participate.

Wish i could be shiny and happy again.
Unfortunately my governments have tried to take that away from me.
I have decided to go Rouge,I can finally afford to do that for a limited number of years.
Shinny Happy People make me smile.
at first I didn’t think this was even cringeworthy, but it slowly grew on me & I realized I liked it better than the original.
maybe it was the nostalgia of seeing an era I grew up in & connected w/ it, connecting w/ a simpler time when males were males & females were females & we all understood both their value to humanity & society.
yeah, our parents allowed us to ‘eff it up … but, the older generations always yields to the newer generation, & when the new generation is not taught … & we weren’t … we ‘eff it up gladly! … hedonism is a powerful aphrodisiac.
maybe it’s because I was never a big REM fan & thought their music was insipid, boring, depressingly uninspiring & banal … but Dolenz does show it in a different perspective & delightfully picks it up a bit
… got my Orange Crush on tonight!
Well…gotta say this was great. Really liked it. Glad to see that some of his folks’ old home movies survived. Many of us wish we had video of our folks, but have none.
Both Micky’s slowed down cover and the accompanying home movies works better than the borderline sappy REM original. I wonder what Michael Stipe thinks of this rendition?
That song makes me think of the Muppets on Sesame St

Autotune…
Everything is Auto-tuned today.
I was shocked to hear the new Stones auto tuned album.
When has Mick and Keef ever cared about pitch?
If nothing else, it reminded me of a much happier time in my life.
