JIHAD WATCH:
Here are two salient sections from SF 1722, as introduced into the Minnesota State Senate. The chief author of this bill is Republican State Senator Jim Abeler; its other authors are Republican State Senators Jerry Relph and Carla J. Nelson, along with Democrat/Farmer-Labor State Senators Steve A. Cwodzinski and Kari Dziedzic.
Even though Abeler is listed as Chief Author of the bill, its likely driver is Nelson, who has a long record of pandering to the Somali community.
This bill is based on the false assumption that poverty causes terrorism, and thus showering money upon communities that produce many jihadis (and Minnesota’s Somali community is certainly in that category) will alleviate the problem. The idea that poverty and ignorance cause terrorism has led the U.S. to shower billions on Muslim countries, hoping to win hearts and minds and alleviate what mainstream analysts doggedly believe are the root causes of terrorism. But it has been known for years that poverty doesn’t really cause terrorism at all. The Economist reported in 2010: “Social scientists have collected a large amount of data on the socioeconomic background of terrorists. According to a 2008 survey of such studies by Alan Krueger of Princeton University, they have found little evidence that the typical terrorist is unusually poor or badly schooled.”
In the same vein, CNS News noted in September 2013: “According to a Rand Corporation report on counterterrorism, prepared for the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 2009, ‘Terrorists are not particularly impoverished, uneducated, or afflicted by mental disease. Demographically, their most important characteristic is normalcy (within their environment). Terrorist leaders actually tend to come from relatively privileged backgrounds.’ One of the authors of the RAND report, Darcy Noricks, also found that according to a number of academic studies, ‘Terrorists turn out to be more rather than less educated than the general population.’” READ MORE
I really don’t need these reminders of why I left Minnesota. I thank God every day.
I just feel so sorry for the friends I left there.
Baseball bat to the teeth of the next politician that gripes about how much Trump’s wall would cost.
$18,000,000 would pay for roughly 15,000 one way tickets to Somolia.
Just sayin’
That’s one big-ass catapult – I’ll give ’em that! 😮
The libs have a faulty worldview (AKA religious beliefs). They think that social ills (as they define them) are the root of all evils. Solve the social problems, solve the conflicts and now everyone is happy and wealthy. All that has to happen is for everyone to subscribe to their way of thinking (belief system) and practice it. Sounds like every other kind of religion.
The Muslims hate us because of who THEY are and what they believe. It’s not poverty or our actions/beliefs, it’s simply because we are non-Muslim.
When it is a Somali community not an American community you have already identified the problem
If poverty causes terrorism, then don’t you think that politicians should be conserned with the poverty they are causing by taxing the snot out of hard working Ameeicans, especially when those tax dollars go towards idiotic schemes such as this?
They should be, considering that politicians seem to see no problem with rewarding bad behavior and punishing good behavior.
Stop calling Republican members of the Minnisota Senate Republicans. They obviously aren’t. The actual conservatives in the state ought to join the individual district party associations (the ones that vote for the district executive who pave the way for the nominee they picked in the previous nights backroom meeting) then vote them all out and replace them with real conservatives. Then go out and choose a good candidate, with conservative values to run in the state elections. Then take the State Executive over and you won’t have any more Al Frankens or Jesse Ventura’s, rather you may actually have good, solid candidates that give the people a real choice.
The senator need to move to Somali , she is more worried about the criminal Muslim that the American citizens. This Somali Muslim get welfare etc deported there ass back to Somali let their government take care of them.
Instead of sending 15,000 Somali’s back, why not send 30,000 halfway?
A class action law suit by tax paying American Citizens would give the old bag a reality check.
Hope the plan succeeds. 49 other states will become more competitive and Minnesota will become a Somali bum sponge.

Who’s heading that up, the future mayor of Rochester?
You have it backwards, Senators. Terrorism causes poverty.
This is starting to make even North or South Dakota look good to this Minnesotan.
After another winter though, Florida or Texas would probably be much better.
Is this in addition to the funds and benefits they are already getting? What about the non-Somali homeless or low income?
Spend it on storage containers and ship them back.
They can keep the containers
