Missouri will require women in legislature to cover arms, shoulders as part of stricter dress code

JTN: A new rule in the Missouri State House will require women there to cover their shoulders and arms while working as part of a stepped-up dress code that has generated backlash from Democrats.

The new proposal, submitted by state Rep. Ann Kelley, directs that “proper attire” for women in the state House will include “jackets” along with skirts or slacks.

The dress code for men stipulates a jacket, shirt and tie; Kelley said this week the new rule for women was meant as a measure of equality.

Ahead of the measure’s successful package, Democrats sharply criticized the new rules.

  1. If I could write up the pols’ dress code, they’d all be wearing Bozo suits complete with clown shoes, floppy collar, and a red rubber ball nose. Men and women both, same suits.

  2. Meechel’s linebacker arms…I never remember seeing women in suits/dresses so much that were sleeveless until heshe showed up. Her biceps were the rage in fashion.

No one wants to see flabby lefty babe arms now that M is out of the limelight.

  3. I remember when schools had dress codes for female teachers, courts, etc. Back then though you could tell a woman, knee length skirts or dresses and respectable blouses or dresses and they got what that meant. These women today wouldn’t be able to figure that out, so I’m fine with telling them to wear a jacket.
On the other side of the coin democrats scream all the time for equality with men, so there’s equality for you, if men have to wear jackets then women should have to wear jackets.

Then brassieres should be mandatory for all with breasts larger than A cup. No more floppy moobs! (-:

  5. I’am making over $15k a month working online. I kept seeing how some people are able to earn a lot of money online, so I decided to look into it. I had luck to stumble upon something that totally changed my life. After 2 months of searching, last month I received a paycheck for $15376 for just working on the laptop for a few hours weekly. I was amazed how easy it was after I tried it copy below web…

  6. A nurse I work with was reminiscent of the good old days where we wore skirts, caps, stockings and orthopedic shoes. Said we should bring that back.

I said sure, back then we also were not allowed to get married and have children, and lived in the dorm attached to the hospital. Could not smoke, could not drink, did the housekeeping and all the hygiene that CNAs do today. I also suspect it would be hard to straddle a patient on a gurney in a skirt doing high quality chest compressions as we rushed them to the cath lab.
