Momentum Building to Add President Trump to Mount Rushmore

Breitbart

The idea of carving President Donald Trump’s likeness into South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore is apparently picking up steam.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) told the New York Post that she is introducing legislation to have the job done, the outlet reported Saturday. More

  1. It’s a cute idea, but no. It would open up a can of worms, such as the left demanding Obama being put up There too. Then nuts trying to deface it or blow it up. Best just leave it alone.

  2. No. I’m opposed to this sort of monumentalism during the lifetime of the honoree. I’m as enthusiastic a supporter of President Trump as you’ll find, but IMO it is premature to put his image up at Mt. Rushmore

  3. I’m looking at Rushmore right now. As I recall, there is no solid granite left on it to carve another face. Someone looked into it when Reagan was around and they deteremined it couldn’t be done. Besides, we shouldn’t be fooling with historic monuments. Imagine adding another top to the Great Pyramid, just because we could.

  4. Stone is irrelevant. His legacy will be carved on the hearts of men, women, and children for generations to come if he leads this nation to the Lord.

If we survive as a nation at all, that will be a far better monument than anything carved by the hand of man could ever be.

    Monuments are temporary.

    Generational survival is not.

“No. I’m opposed to this sort of monumentalism during the lifetime of the honoree.”

…Cincinnati once had a law that streets could not be named after living men, so you knew their legacy was secure.

Then Pete Rose got hit #4,192 in 1985, in the prime of his career.

Laws were changed and, with great ceremony, 3rd street that ran past the stadium was changed to “Pete Rose Way”, highway signs and everything, and they were able to make fun of the naysayers because Pete Rose never…had a…bad…..uhhh…….

    …oh.

    Nevermind…

  6. I really wish they would wait until 2028 to bring this up.
0bama ‘won’ the Nobel Peace Prize, for which he had to have been nominated within days of his taking the oath of presidency. He had done nothing! Sure, Trump has done A LOT just in the past week, but waiting until 2028 will prove his legacy valid.

  7. …besides, I’ll tell you what, if President Trump keeps pushing mRNA I may well START the Monument Toppling Committee and that’s a LOT of work, so better if there isnt one that needs toppling to begin with…

  8. I don’t know if it is a good idea or not, but to balance things out, they should declare the rubble at the base of Mt. Rushmore as a memorial to biden’s accomplishments.

  9. I still can’t believe the Left and their obedient, knee-pad media actually wanted to put Joseph Stolen up there with the great people that founded and formed America!! Mount Rushmore is a monument to the best. A figure of Jackass Joe belongs on the public shitter or a urinal mat!

  10. i am still for a ground-level kiosk with holographic displays of grobama & grobiden. visitors could select an activity/volume/speed: obama smoking dope, twerking, and playing a ghetto blaster. obiden eating ice cream, falling down stairs, hitching up/checking depends.

  11. I just checked and there are other presidents in Statuary Hall at the Capitol Building–Truman, Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Grant, Garfield, Jackson, Eisenhower, Reagan–and Ford? of course this is “AI generated” I am getting sick and tired of seeing AI everywhere! I’m having trouble getting rid of “co-pilot” in my Microsoft office programs 🙁
And Yes those of us who may have to live with TDS people may have to bear the brunt of their wrath

  12. as efemdy 12:24 said, there’s no more solid granite to put another face. The original sculptor & architect had to change the design several times as he ran across “rotton” granite that wouldn’t hold up under chisel, time and weather.

  13. That idea ranks right up there in self-serving “look at me” grandstanding stupidity and shortsightedness as Congressman Andy Ogles’ bill to amend the 22nd amendment to allow Trump to run for a third term.

  14. It’s already an abomination. NO fallible human being deserves to be elevated to near God status, especially NOT a politician. Destroying whats already there would be fine. Especially Lincoln and Roosevelt.
