In the United States, deaths tied to excessive alcohol use rose 29 percent in just five years, according to federal data out this week, an increase that has alarmed experts and devastated many people who have lost loved ones.
A study published this week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated an annual average of nearly 138,000 people dying from alcohol-related causes, such as motor vehicle crashes, alcohol poisoning, cancer and cirrhosis, based on data from 2016 to 2017. By 2020 to 2021, alcohol contributed to more than 178,000 U.S. deaths per year on average, the report said. More

They, being PBS, are blaming the COVID lock downs which ended about 2 years ago. People are drinking themselves to death because the economy is lousy, people are lousy and prospects for a better future are lousy under Biden.

Visited the Puget Sound area of Washington. Liquor taxes are so high consuming alcohol was cost prohibitive. Asked a checker at QFC why their liquor is locked up. “Because of the new taxes, shrinkage went up dramatically. People quit buying it. Liquor used to take up a whole aisle. Got down to 1/3 of an aisle. Theft was so bad we had to move it to lockers that only take up 1/4 the space of 1 aisle.” SMDH. I’ll bet the limp wristed commie loving bean counters in Olympia are trying to figure out why alcohol revenue disappeared.
It’s going to get worse. The economy is tanking despite what the mouth pieces on the news are telling you.

PBS programming persistently consists of:
40% Talking about the downtrodden, oppressed blacks and the need for reparations from evil Whitey who is always a supremacist. (Even though it’s White’s doing most of the complaining.)
30% LGBT mafia talking points. In fact, when a woman calls in at any time of the day to talk, she will ALWAYS find a way to interject the fact that she has a “wife.”
25% Trump bashing and outright lies. Yesterday they mentioned Trump’s “muslim ban” three times.
5% Legit content.
I suspect negative Trump content will soar to 90%…
