The wheels are finally starting to come off the wagon for embattled Democrat New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo as a probe into his alleged sexual misconduct has expanded.
The probe is now investigating to see if a top aide to the governor linked access to coronavirus vaccines to support for Cuomo as another top aide announced his resignation this week, The Daily Mail reported.
Cuomo’s communications director Peter Ajemian and is being replaced by longtime chief adviser Rich Azzopardi.
“After nearly four years, and with this year’s budget done and vaccine eligibility open to everyone, I decided now is the time to pursue opportunities in the private sector,” he said.
“I’m grateful to the governor for giving me the chance to serve. It’s been the honor of a lifetime to be part of a team working for New Yorkers in a period of un precedented crisis and seeing the government work for the people and people work for each other,” he said. read more
