JTN– Four states will have a $15-an-hour minimum wage by New Year’s Day, while 27 states are poised to raise the minimum wage in 2023.
Some states are enacting the wage change after Jan. 1, so by the end of 2023 there will be six states that are set to have minimum wages at or above $15 an hour. They are California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, and Washington, according to a report last week from the National Employment Law Project.
Other states are gradually implementing a $15-an-hour minimum over the course of several years, including Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Virginia, USA Today reported. The federal minimum wage of $7.25 remains in place for 20 states. mpre
Why don’t they raise to $50 per hour? Just print more.
If you want to “spread the wealth”, then FUCKING SPREAD IT.
Well, yeah…that’s the dems answer to inflation. And buying votes.
Next thing you know they’ll be replaced by automation…and then go on unemployment to make some real money!
No business could hire ANYONE at minimum wage right now. This is just a Government flex, nothing more.
Way to drive inflation, guys. I’ve got my Weimar inspired wheelbarrow all lubed up to take my piles of worthless money home in just like THEY did.
…so, what happened after Germans got sick of wallet-popping inflation and super corrupt government against the backdrop of dissolute society?
You might wanna look that one up, Communists, it didn’t end too well for you.
At some point it won’t be worth the time savings to eat at a fast food restaurant. Already, it seems that the Wendy’s burgers are smaller as are the Raising Canes’ chicken fingers. At some point the size will be so small in opposition to the price that I and many others will just do Ramen noodles in a cup (and that is getting more expensive).
And can someone tell that dementia-riddled moron acting as US President that even though the rate of inflation might go down a few tenths of a percent, it just means prices aren’t going up as fast. They are still going up.
FYI
Your Ramen Budget is now $7+ Plus Tax for a 12 Pack.
That is a sign.
If minimum wage had kept up with inflation over the last 20 years, we wouldn’t be playing catch-up all at once, and when employers are having trouble finding employees. Deferred maintenance is always more expensive.
That means millions of folks will lose welfare benefits since they’ll no longr be at poverty level plus they’ll be indebted to IRS. It’s ALL about the embezzling Joe Biden’s higher taxes at every and any level.

$15/hr means there will be twice the amount put into SS & Medicare.
The minimum wage should be $0.00
^^^^^ Exactly. I’ll pay you what you’re worth. If you’re valuable you will be rewarded. Free Market principles at it’s best. I’ve been in biz for about 35 years. Most of that time we we’re a 49 man machine shop. At 50 all the rules changes in Cali, and not for the better. It’s not just the minimum wage in these states. Workman comp rates are off the charts. California labor laws are so complex you need to higher consultants just to keep your butt from being fined. Not to mention the internal dollars you spend administering this crap. They are anti biz. Plain and simple. Why am I still here?
Raising the minimum wage in a time of rampant inflation should be considered criminal. Doubling it is beyond asinine. Obama’s third term just last month was demanding that wages and salaries be frozen. Well, for the middle two-thirds of workers they have been frozen, or at least highly viscous, for over thirty years.
Raising the minimum wage does not move the entire wage scale up. It merely forces the poverty line up and destroys worker satisfaction as employees who had worked hard for years to slowly increase their earnings until they were comfortable suddenly see themselves working at or near the minimum wage again.
The minimum wage should not exist, but if politics insists on its existence it should not be considered a living wage. (Even $15/hour isn’t a living wage in this area. Rents are sky high and inflation has eroded buying power by at least 30%.)
This is all designed to push us to the Great Reset. They want chaos, division and suffering so that when they impose their bizarre utopian socioeconomic structure on us, we will be forced to accept it. There will be no alternatives.
The value of your 401K just plummeted even lower. FJB!
