Moron Virtue Signaling College Students and Their Administrative Enablers Lose in Court

The Gibson Bakery fiasco has been going on for years.

One night an underage black student attempted to buy wine at Gibsons. It didn’t work. The student then attempted to steal 2 bottles. He was detained by the owner’s son. The bottles dropped to the floor, there was a scuffle outside, the police came and arrested the shoplifter.

The shoplifter confessed, wrote a statement saying he was guilty, the bakery did nothing wrong. Then the Oberlin asshole students took over, saying the bakery was “racist.”

The school is now on the hook for 11 million bucks, possibly 33 million.

  1. I’m very happy for the Gibsons. This was a rare good decision. I wish a substantial part of the penalty could come out of the pockets of the college administrators and “student” agitators, but, alas, I know that will never happen.

  2. …you know, so sometimes you can name your fate.

    Or your children’s

Some idiot named the kid that did the stealing “Aladin” when he was born.

    What did they EXPECT?

…anyway, accusations of racism DO have severe, real-world financial consequences. This is why it should have severe, real-world consequences for those who BRING them.

    Every.
    Single.
    One.
    Of them.

    .

Nice that at least ONE court FINALLY acknowledged that, but until ALL of those that cry “RAYCISS” without regard or merit ALSO feel the burn, it will NEVER stop.

..because it just serves the Democrats too well…

  3. A third take on it…

Really this is the only way to get their attention. Cost them the money to pay for their SJW programs and the libtard tears will flow.

Have to think that the judges that Trump is putting on the courts are going to help us. (Two other decisions reported at the American Thinker of note.) Perhaps four more years might get us back to even with the number of judges following the constitution. Way too much legislating from the bench.

  4. The college trustees need to initiate legal action against the staff involved. They were clearly gone rogue, if not, then all federal money (including student loans) needs to be shut off if this is officially recognized by the college to be consistent with the values they are teaching.

They lost because they violated the owners’ civil rights.

  5. I’ll be stopping by this bakery when I go back to visit family next week and will be sure to buy a few dozen donuts in honor of this decision (and my friends at iOTW!)

  6. “The lawsuit claimed that the college said it would resume doing business with the bakery if the Gibsons would not file criminal charges against first-time shoplifters.”

First time, or first time being both caught and prosecuted?

  7. I’ve known two Oberlin College grads in my life, and both were first class cunts. Oberlin, Swarthmore, and Evergreen State are a triumvirate of academic septic tanks, brought on by, what else?… Marxist cunts.

  8. True justice would have also had the shoplifter and friends doing 1500 hours of community service in the college student union and in front of bakery stating it was not the store’s fault, it was not racist and anyone calling racism that is a fraud, liar and liable to defamation.

We should demand of the state the same for murderers. I mean, damn, it’s their first time doing this and all.

  10. All this because Colleges long ago abandoned the doctrine of “in loco parentis” under which Colleges set and enforced rules of behavior for students. The Dean of Students was the enforcer. Now that post is “Students’ BFF”.

The way shoplifting would be handled in former days would be for Gibsons or the Police to call the Dean who would apply appropriate discipline such as a warning letter, a suspension, expulsion, or community service. Short and simple. Over and done.

who do you think hired/promoted the America haters that caused this problem?

If the trustees did not think we needed “A kinder gentler America” these people would not be the decision makers! the trustees are guilty of this problem. They made it happen!
