Singapore has topped 131 cities globally to become the world’s most expensive city to live in 2014, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

Weird.
I’ve spent a little time in five of those 10 cities, and even though expensive my favorite was Singapore. I need to go back there now that Gardens by the Bay are open.
I thought it would be Shanghai, but it wasn’t even on the list. I voted London because of the socialism in England.
I thought for sure it’d be Tokyo. It wasn’t cheap back in the day, either.
Next in line would have been SF
I know that cause we are there. It is crazy expensive to even visit.
I voted for Monterey. Little bedroom community with LOTS of very high priced stuff all around it.
They jail you for chewing gum . They hang you same day as sentenced for drug trafficking. USA could use those kind of laws! Cops are honest. No appeals.

I’m surprised Hong Kong isn’t in the top 5. Buying a place costs around $1,000 per sq ft. By comparison Singapore averages about $2,000.
