Pricks. Rubber gun squad bastards.
Why was only the mother arrested, the father doesn’t shoulder any responsibility? Hard to see an underage driver at night, consider the pursuing officer was also in a golf cart, bike, or on foot. Something smells.
If she let her 11 year old drive her home at night in the family car because she was drunk would that be child abuse?
People come to the beach and think they can ride around drunk in a golf car. It’s idiotic. Then they scream and have hissy fits when they are arrested and their golf car gets towed away.
This story sounds more like a situation that was exasperated by the Mother’s behavior. It would seem irrational to send your husband home to get bug spray and stay around and argue with a police officer. You know you are in the wrong so why not be civil instead of arguing and getting belligerent.
How about the mother counter charge the PD with 1) False Arrest and 2) Police Abuse. Such charges to remain valid for two years after being filed.

All charges dismissed, cop was a no-show at trial/s.
Why didn’t the cops shoot that vicious dog?
Driving a golf cart is virtually the same as driving a Barbie jeep. Do you have to be 16 to drive a Barbie jeep? No. In fact, 3-year-olds can drive one. All my kids drove golf carts on family vacations, with us in the cart along for the ride. Never a big deal. Cop was just looking for something to do that night. Mom overreacted and should have just stuck her hands out for cuffing and told her husband to call their lawyer. There was apparently plenty of stupid all around that night.
How about pulling them over and reminding them an 11 year old is too young to drive?
She should have immediately declared herself to be a transgender illegal who needed a quick ride to the restroom of her choice
It may have been a heavy handed arrest, but look at how she’s in full freak out mode. Only an idiot acts that way around cops. It freaks them out and guarantees not only a trip to jail, but pile on charges as well. People really need to learn to keep their cool when a cop may be acting heavy handedly. After all, she did, in fact, break the posted rules of that resort. I’ll bet she acted like an entitled asshole in her first interaction with the cops. That’s never going to end up well for you.
I can remember in Mississippi, at age 13, my friends and I took a trip of 45 miles to a near by town with a car that had been purchased for a 13 year old. We bought illegal beer at the ice house and went and danced with the prostitutes at a brothel, then drove back. Now, my parents would have been arrested for child abuse due to the beating I got. This was in 1962.
Driving a golf cart?
Driving a fukkin golf cart?
World’s gone fukkin nuts.

Never resist, never get lippy.
Especially when the Officers are in the wrong
You will not win the short engagement.
Accept temporary tyranny until you have your freedom and fight them with your lawyer
I got screwed with by LAPD cops a long time ago.
They were assholes looking to screw with the funny looking musicians
I stayed quiet and obeyed the officers and answered yes sir, no sir, like my Old Man told me.
My buddy got a busted nose and sat on by four cops, and a long expensive legal fight and I got told to walk home.
i jay walk everyday when I go across the street to the little store and sometimes a police car drives by and lets me pass with a wave. good thing I don’t live in a gated compound and drive a cart and send my kids to the store.
Recently went to Boquillas, Mexico while staying in Big Bend National Park. After crossing the Rio Grande, I had the option to walk, ride a burro or ride in the back of a pick-up into the village. I took the pick-up. I asked one of the friendly Mexican villagers if I’d get a ticket from a cop for riding in the back of the truck. He laughed and said, “We don’t have no cops here. We have no need for them.” Damn, those lucky bastards!
