MSNBC and CNN Fall Back to Their Favorite Narrative

Newsbusters

Trump’s frontrunner status in the Republican primary has made him a hot topic of discussion whenever a new candidate enters the race, and Thursday was no exception. In the freshly announced candidacies of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), pundits on the liberal cable networks found two shiny new reasons to pontificate about all things Trump.

MRC analysts used a combination of live broadcasts and Snapstream transcripts to find every mention of the former President on CNN and MSNBC. In just 10 hours, Trump’s name was invoked 399 times across both networks. MSNBC just barely edged out its competitor with 208 mentions (52%), while CNN was responsible for the remaining 191 mentions (48%).

Both networks had a few outliers in their weekday lineups. On MSNBC, Morning Joe boasted an impressive 86 Trumps. However, averaged across the show’s four-hour runtime, that only came out to about 21 Trumps per hour. The network’s real heavy lifter was the 2 p.m. hour of Chris Jansing Reports, which managed a respectable 33 Trumps despite also carrying live coverage of a press conference by President Biden. More

  1. Meanwhile, Trump fanatics and DeSantis fanatics are living rent-free in each others’ heads, at least on Twitter.
As usual the 99%, the people who think before speaking, are mostly not speaking.

  2. The propaganda machine (aka “MSM”) is in a real conundrum right now. They believe that DeSantis has a better chance at beating (fill in the blank), but their TDS is kicking in big time and they can’t control themselves. They’ll turn their attack on DeSantis soon enough.

    1
  3. In fact, I know of a certain politician who actually voted for the Clintons, gave them money, went to weddings, endorsed Paul Ryan, & hired Christopher Wray to boot!
Hint: It is NOT Ron DeSantis.

The endorsement logic is so fucking tiresome… sigh*

    3
  4. “DeSantis being endorsed by a Jeb Bush, tells me all I need to know about DeSantis”

Exactly. The strange thing is judging by his presentation and demeanor I’m not sure the guy want’s to run. It’s like someone is forcing him. At least is pitiful Twitter launch provided some good comedy. But make no mistake, he’s the uni-party candidate.

    3
  5. I tell you what was REALLY FUNNY, when DeSantis officially launched, Trump posted on that obscure failed APP “Truth Social” his love for murderous dictator Kim Jong Un.
It was so fucking bizarre & embarrassing, I don’t even want to post the quote here.
Seriously, OMG! Plus such a non-sequitur.
Pathetic, and it shows EXACTLY who is a chicken-shit cuck.
    Trump lost his edge.
    Sad to see.

  6. My guess is in the 1 1/2 years the RINO party is going throw a bunch candidates up against the wall, to see what sticks. So they can split the vote in the primaries.
That’s assuming some major incident doesn’t just cancel the election. Just like the fakensurrection canceled the objections to certifying the election results.

Old Rupert summoned DeSantes last week to his California ranch and promised him all the help FOX News could muster. That was before the pitiful launch. Meanwhile,

“State Rep. Sandra Panek (R) announced her decision to switch her support on Thursday following DeSantis’s campaign launch on Wednesday.”

She switched to Trump. If you can’t manage your campaign launch good luck managing the country. Like I say, his hearts not in it.

Currently the RINOs in Texas are trying to remove Ken Paxton. So if you think RINOs aren’t just as dangerous as libtards you’re mistaken.

  8. Thing is, Tucker would have interviewed DeSantis the night of his launch had he been at Fox instead of Trey Gowdy, whom RDS worked with in congress.
Hannity & Laura’s lips are currently attached to Trump’s ass.
He is their man, which is fine, but don’t claim Rupert told them otherwise.

  9. “Hannity & Laura’s lips are currently attached to Trump’s ass.”

Hannity is an idiot, Laura hates Trump. Which FOX have you been watching.

“but don’t claim Rupert told them otherwise.”

FOX is in the bag for DeSantes. Which is also fine. Their audience in down to a bunch of old ladies that haven’t figured out how to use their remote. That launch was so pathetic it has cost him HUGELY. His hearts not in it, or he’s afraid of MAGA. He should have waited four years.

    2
  10. If I so desired I could post clips from Hannity & Laura from just last week, a ton from Laura, throwing shade at DeSantis and praising Trump.
I’m right, you are wrong but what else is new?

Fox fucked up and I only watch long enough to see them praise Trump and then I bail. You are clueless with your Rupert conspiracies.
Why do you listen to sites that lie to you?
    Doesn’t take long…

  11. And once again we have the LBS and Brad love-fest. Why don’t you two get a room and and express your love for one another. Or better yet, learn to ignore each other’s petty, stupid, baiting comments and focus on making your own relevant and pertinent comment to the thread comments. It’s really tiresome.

One way to get them together is to give them an outside party (me) to focus their anger on. So be it.

    5
  12. Come on stirrin’, as far as the commentary goes this was far from incendiary and nobody threatened physical violence.
    I say we’ve made progress.
    Baby steps…

PS, I’m not angry with you at all.
    Write whatever you want.
    See how wonderful that is?

    4
  13. Oh come on man! There’s nuttin wrong with DeSanctus. A few rabid mouse bits never hurt no one. As long as his Florida Man cage holds, if not just like the crocs in.

  14. Agreed Loco, it wasn’t incendiary or confrontational, but it dominated the thread and who knows, maybe my intervention kept it from escalating.

Naaahhhh, I won’t take that kind of credit, but seriously, keep it at a simmer.

    2
  15. ” my intervention kept it from escalating.”

You think to highly of yourself. When he post out right bull shit, half truths like this,
“In fact, I know of a certain politician who actually voted for the Clintons, gave them money, went to weddings, endorsed Paul Ryan, & hired Christopher Wray to boot!”
I’ll counter his bull shit and sign off. He acts like DeSantes campaign manager and that pisses me off. He’s not here for any logical discussion. But I will not engage him as I have in the past. I was done.

    4
  16. “…” my intervention kept it from escalating.”

You think to (sic) highly of yourself….”

Brad you conveniently omitted my next sentence in that comment, which was “Naaahhhh, I won’t take that kind of credit,…”

So no, I don’t think TOO (the correct word is too, not to – refer to the acryologia thread from a few days ago) highly of myself.

  17. Brad

I don’t have a dog in this fight, Whether I’m entertained or not has nothing to do with your selective quoting of my comment. Thar’s all that comment was about.

    1
  18. I think you misunderstood me stirrin.
I was giving you Brad’s perspective.

He seriously believes there are only two sides, his or mine.
I don’t believe you hate me.
In fact, the only person ever on this site to say they hate me is Brad.
    I’m fine with that.

    1
  19. stirrin the pot

You’re being easily distracted. Remember my last comment in November 2023. And yes there are only two sides to this and you are currently on the wrong side. I’m a Reagan Conservative. What are you?

    1
  20. Loco, what road and what time will you be there…just in case I might be there at the same time…you never know, we might run onto each other…so to speak.

  21. Feel free to hate me nigga George.
However, I also felt free to remove my thumb-up from your earlier comment that Brad was limp wristed, even though you called us both morons.
Obviously from the quote above you not only don’t know shit, you don’t know me either.
So, GFY and have a good night.
PS, please keep commenting here, Lord knows we need more assholes…

    1
  22. Brad –
“…there are only two sides to this and you are currently on the wrong side…”

You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. Reagan turned me from a dumbass college aged liberal to a staunch conservative in 1980, and I have never looked back since – including 2016 and 2020. Show me ONE quote of mine that says otherwise.

You apparently think that I side with Loco and therefore am your enemy. That’s very tribal of you. This is an independent thinking blog site. I speak my mind, whether you or Loco agree with me makes no difference to me. That’s your problem, not mine.

    1
  23. ” That’s very “tribal of you.”

You have no idea how tribal it’s going to get. Believe me. I have an excellent vantage point.
Trump won’t be allowed to run. Let’s start there. Have fun, I’m out.

    1
  24. Question: If “Trump won’t be allowed to run” then wouldn’t the guy in second place, way ahead of the back-benchers be more inclined to run?
I mean, why give the nom to Nikki?

Of course only an idiot would believe DeSantis is a DA or judge that could “not allow” Trump to run.

    1
  25. Here is what disappoints me. Whether it’s loco or Brad or Rich or myself or anyone else for that matter, it’s oh, these guys dominate the the conversation. This is either your opportunity to interject with a thoughtful comment or not. But to complain that someone else is voicing their opinion and declare you don’t want to be exposed to it is counter to what this site is. What the fuck?!?! Are we being pussified here too? We all better man up, we are close to losing our country and we are arguing about how we have to restrict our points of view. We need to look in the mirror and see if we recognize what we are looking at.

    6
  26. 100% joe6.
It’s hard for me to grasp that folks are actually offended by our conversations.
Especially tonight. It’s been mostly tongue-in-cheek.
People blowing off steam, making jokes, giving people shit.
    Nothing serious.

BTW, one of Trump’s selling points is his bombastic sense of humor.
Our side likes it and the left just doesn’t get it.
Don’t be like the left people!

    4
  27. Agreed. I’m gone for like…..2 weeks and when I come back, it’s the same damn infighting over nothing.

Like watching the old timers sitting around the stove on cracker barrels, air whittling and spitting in an old timey spittoon.

    4
  28. Brad –

How do you know I have no idea? That’s your problem, you make assumptions in order to fit your narrative with no basis in fact. I’m probably just as informed as you – maybe more – about politics, world history and human nature and what it all means for the future of our country. And I am very aware of the threat that Trump poses to the US ruling class and what they will do to keep him from being re-elected. They will pull out ALL stops.

But quite frankly, I think you are wrong about not allowing Trump to run. I think that Marxist/Globalist uniparty and it’s propaganda media outlets would rather have Trump as the nominee than DeSantis. They’re counting on Trump turning off the independents with his mean-tweeting and name-calling, which will make it much easier to defeat him in 2024 – AIDED in LARGE PART by the same fraudulent voting tactics used in 2020.

And before you incorrectly jump to the conclusion that I am a DeSantis supporter, STOP, do not pass go and go directly to jail. I am a Trump supporter thru and thru, but unfortunately he is his own worst enemy. I hope he changes his tactics. It worked in 2016 because he was a novelty and completely underestimated by his opponents/enemies. In 2020 they sharpened their knives and their fraud tactics. In 2024 it will be even worse.

    3
  29. And one more thing, Trump’s greatest vulnerability is Covid, and he stupidly said Coumo was more effective than DeSantis on the issue. This is outrageous! Trump needs to somehow get away from his Warp Speed propaganda or he’s going to wear this like an anchor around his neck.
