A slick new civil rights-themed video promoting MSNBC’s forced name change to “MS NOW” features paid black actors playing ordinary Americans, intercut with pensive shots of MSNBC’s white primetime stars. The promotional spot, narrated by Rachel Maddow reading the Constitution, appears to be a ham-handed effort by MSNBC’s new parent company, Versant, to cater to MSNBC’s large black audience—the largest in cable news—when its primetime and morning anchor lineup is overwhelmingly white. It deserves to be “MS Has Been”
The demographic for MSNBC viewers is virtually the same as those jagoffs we see at the “No Kings’rallies; 65 plus white libs who are miserable, disconsolate, and emotional because their life sucks, their children are a disappointment, and their grandkids think they are losers.
The idea of Rachel Maddow reading the Constitution is as jarring as the idea of the Pope reading the Book of Mormon.
Which reminds me of the old joke:
A priest bursts into the Pope’s room and declares, “Your holiness! Your holiness! I have good news and bad news!”
The Pope says, “Well, tell me the good news.”
“We just got a phone call from Jesus! He has returned!”
“Praise God! How wonderful! But what’s the bad news?”
“He called from Salt Lake City.”
Meh!
Bet it deletes from my sets the same as the old one did.
@UAL: The pope dies and goes to Heaven. He really wants to go to the library so St. Peter leads him there. A half an hour later the angels find him crying in the corner. They ask him “what’s wrong?” and he replies with tears in his eyes: “The word is celebrate”.
Anything that CNN or “MS NOW” does is by definition pathetic.
@Cynic
We could also call it “MS Never Will Be”.
MSNBC is trying the old Marketer’s trick, Rebranding, but with the SOS.
